I am a 71-yr old woman who has a Power of Attorney for my son who was very ill 2 years ago and has not been able to work. Consequently, he has debts that have gone to collection agencies. This morning, I received a cal from a woman named "Wendy" who stated she had a judgment from Maricopa County Arizona and I must pay my son's delinquent account. I told her I had only a Power of Attornery and she stated that makes me a co-owner of the account. When I questioned this, she became very rude and accused me of being rude to her. I asked her for the name of her company and she refused, however, she gave me an 800 number so I could call back and make arrangements for payment.

I did call back after calling the Maricopa County Attorney and spoke to another woman. When I told her I had contacted the Maricopa County Attorney's office and am waiting for a call back, she would not give me her name but stated I am named on the account. When I explained about the P of A, she back-pedaled and started attacking me, saying I was being rude to her and she hung up on me. A few minutes later, my phone rang and she was MUCH nicer hinting that she had to hang up to compose herself (yeah, sure) and gave me the name of the company (NCO Group) and the mailing address. I'm not done yet!!

I will go into the hospital next week for a cancer biopsy and I certainly don't need this kind of treatment now or ever.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

BEWARE!!....NCO Group/NCO Financial..."Sold"..

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 24, 2006

To all concerned,

I guess it got too hot for NCO with all of the consumer lawsuits and complaints and FTC investigations and fines, etc..

They "Sell" when they need a "fresh start". This is a real lowlife maneuver.

Read this:

NCO Group Announces Agreement to be Acquired by CEO and Equity Group for $1.26 billion
July 24, 2006

NCO Group, Inc., a leading provider of business process outsourcing services, announced today that it had entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by One Equity Partners ("OEP") and Michael J. Barrist, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, in a transaction valued at approximately $1.26 billion. Other members of executive management will be given an opportunity to invest in the surviving company and Mr. Barrist will continue as Chief Executive Officer.

Under the terms of the agreement, NCO shareholders will receive $27.50 in cash for each share of NCO common stock they hold as of the effective date of the merger. The price represents a 44 percent premium to the closing price of the stock prior to the Company's May 16, 2006 announcement of the receipt of the proposal from Mr. Barrist.

The merger agreement was negotiated on behalf of NCO by a special committee of the Board of Directors composed entirely of independent members of the Board. Upon the unanimous recommendation of the special committee, the Board of Directors has approved the merger agreement and has recommended to NCO's shareholders that they adopt the agreement.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2006, subject to receipt of shareholder approval and customary regulatory approvals as well as satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.

Blank Rome LLP acted as legal counsel to NCO and Bass, Berry & Sims PLC acted as legal counsel to the Special Committee. Credit Suisse acted as financial advisor to the Special Committee.

Dechert LLP acted as legal counsel for OEP and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP acted as legal counsel for Michael J. Barrist. Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated and JPMorgan Chase & Co. acted as financial advisors to OEP.

We have to keep on top of this lowlife!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Shirley...Here's how you deal with NCO Financial / NCO Group

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 12, 2006

Shirley,

These crackheads are the worst of the worst. They are the largest violators of consumers rights in the nation in the debt collection business.

They are also junk debt buyers. They buy an old debt like that one for about 1/10th of a penny on the dollar.

You really need to go to FTC.gov and read your rights under the FDCPA. Read and print suggested.

Then while on that site file a separate complaint on each violation of your rights, as it is the # of complaints that gets enforcement.

You are entitled to $1000 plus costs for each violation.

Do a search on this site for all of the other violations and solutions, as well as complete contact info.

Good luck.
