The lies began, unbeknownst to me, during the initial consultation when a consultant stated to "disregard" the projected far-end timeframe of 30 days for results to be produced. She said, "What you're asking is simple. We do it all the time. You'll have results in 3 days." I paid a $220 deposit on 10/30/13 and was assigned a representative. The first red flag with her was when she asked me for an email address although I was requesting voicemail access.

Over a week later (11/8), I emailed my representative and indicated I was patient beyond the 3 day timeframe which was quoted. She replied, "...they've moved from planning to execution and I should be hearing something more concrete next week from your tech!" This presented additional red flags since they neglected to ever mention there would be yet a different, unknown, mysterious "tech" working on my case when Elizabeth Lowry represented herself as that person.

Four more days later (11/12), I again emailed her, reminding her of the "3-day" promise I was given verbally in the consultation. She replied and referred back to the "standard time frame [of] 3-30 days" which I was told to disregard. I requested a full refund at this time because it was evident I was confronting a system of lies and falsehoods hiding behind a facade. In that last reply from Elizabeth, she said she was forwarding my request on to her "boss" and that they would be in touch once they had a chance to discuss this further.

From that point on, I resolved to only contact the company by phone and insisted upon speaking to "David" who I spoke to and was readily available to accept phone calls, prior to my initial purchase. Every time I called after expressing my concern, however, a receptionist ran interference and continuously referred me back to Elizabeth and was told she was supposed to provide "screenshots" as proof the work was being done. I was never allowed to speak to David though I called repeatedly for months, during which time I never heard from Elizabeth until 4/2/14), at which time she indicated, "Effective 3/11/14 I will no longer be taking cases with NHH and will be transfering my existing open cases to a new project manager. Your new PM will reach out to you in the days to come." This was obviously a retroactive notice as I was never contacted in advance of this change, nor was I ever contacted by a new "project manager".

I continued to press for a response from David, but was rerouted to someone named, Cindy Short, who eventually replied via email on 4/24/14. She offered that Elizabeth was no longer with the company and that my case was failed, though I hadn't received notification prior to that time. She also indicated they were working on an "Instagram password", which I never requested. It took nearly 6 months to find out that nothing had ever been done on my case, and Cindy had the audacity to suggest any deposit I paid was considered a forfeiture.

1. They stated I would have results in 3 days, and to disregard any other listed timeframe.

2. They could not keep straight my objective for voicemail access and confused it with other tasks (email password and Instagram password).

3. They delayed beginning work on my case (assigning it to a "tech") for more than a week.

4. There is no proof my grievance was forwarded to the "boss" and only indications they never intended to respond, hoping I would let it go and go away.

5. My representative (project manager) left the company and never notified me until weeks afterward. My case was never transferred to another project manager (PM).

6. Repeated phone calls to the company were diverted. My countless messages left with receptionists for David went unanswered.

7. Cindy Short refused any accomodation but said it would have to be David to authorize a refund. David never responded, obviously.

I cannot emphasis enough that every single complaint against Neighborhood Hacker has merit and is wholly accurate based upon shared and repeated experiences outlining this company's MO for using deceptive practices and delay tactics amounting to fraud. The only ethical outcome that could revise this complaint is a full and immediate refund of $245. $25 for a verbal consultation which misrepresented their service with a false and dishonest turn-around timeframe, and $220 for absolutely zero evidence any work was ever done on my case, along with the procrastination to cover their deception, the termination of services due to the project manager quitting, and the constant refusal to allow me to speak with David.

Not That It's Any of Your Business, But...

I was attempting to gain access to my minor child's phone system so I could monitor their activities at a time when their behaviour was suspcious. This was something a family counselor had recommended, however, I confirmed it was within legal bounds after speaking to both an attorney and my local sheriff.

People use Hacking services for a variety of reasons. Your critical judgment is misguided and should be reserved for actual criminal conduct.

YOU use a "hacker" and YOU have the nerve to complain about ethical. "Hello Mr. Pot, Im Ms. Kettle" How about just realize that YOU were more then likely doing something YOU shouldnt be doing and got taken for doing so. More then likely a ripoff, but when YOU are being ripped off commiting some form of crime is it REALLY a ripoff or just the cost of doing shady business.
