On November 12, 2008 Neighbors Moving and Storage arrived at my apartment to load my furniture (some brand new) on there truck for a delivery from Florida to Alabama. I was told I would recieve it in 3-4 days from pickup. I then drove my car and some clothing items down to the home in Alabama and patiently awaited the trucks delivery. When I saw it didn't come within the time frame I was told, I got a little nervous and called the company for a status.... here is when the drama started....
No one called me to inform me of a status change. I called them and they told me that the truck had broken down, something with the radiator. They told me it would take a couple more days. More days passed and I wanted to know the status, so I called again and this time they told me it would be a few more days and they couldn't give me an explanation. More days passed and of course I called again.....this time they told me that they loaded the wrong furniture and it would take a couple more days. All this time no one is calling, I am doing all the calling. I'm living in an empty house and hoping this is not a scam company. I finally asked my sister who still lived in Florida to go to the actual office to get more information...
My sister and neice went to the physical office on my behalf and they (Neighbors Moving and Storage) didn't seem to know where the furniture was. The manager they talked to didn't know anything about a truck breaking down. He stated, they were not responsible because the truck driver was an independent contractor. It didn't make sense to them because the contractor drives their Nieghbors Truck. He is defintely representing their company. He told them it would be a few more days. There was no reason just that he didn't know. They asked why no one was calling to update me and they stated."Some one should have, but I don't know why. They seemed to care less. He attempted to make a phone call to the driver and stated he got a voicemail. He told my sister and niece that it would take 2 -3 more days. This was strange becaus ehe hadn't talked to anyone so how did he come up with the time frame? Sounds like a SCAM?
Now by this time I've been calling everyday, as well as my sister, daughter, and niece. The answer I get is, it'll be there tomorrow or 2 more days. I spoke with them just yesterday (of course I called them again) and they promised to have it there Monday, November 24 by noon, then by 3pm. Of course they never came and I wasn't really expecting them. It has been 13 days with no sign of my furniture and really no explanation. I am a Christian woman and really try to give people the benefit of the doubt but... I have now decided to take legal action.
I urge you to research this company. They failed the following:
1) Simply calling me with updates to show that they give a care. No one has ever attempted to call me. I would call and they would say they'll call me back but nothing. After my sister and niece went to the physical office and complained I got 1 phone call from a lady in South Florida telling me of course it'll be there in another 2 more days. Surprise! Surprise!
2) To give me a explanation that makes any sense. If the wrong load was taken they have had ample time to get it and deliver. Especially if they were the cause of the problem. Also, if a truck broke down, which no one seems to know about. They have also had time to resolve this issue or get another truck. Makes no sense.
3) Provide me with a manager that deals with inter-state. They stated, that they are local movers but also do inter-state however; its done through contractors. This information is not provided when booking with them. I don't care if you have a contractor they work and represent your company. They stated there is a manager ovr inter-state but refused to give that information. Doesn't that seem strange? They should also have a way of contacting that driver. But I was told they have no control of the driver. All I know is that 2 movers from Nieghbors Moving and Storage came to my apartment and loaded my furniture into a Nieghbors Moving and Storage truck and that was the last I've seen of it.
4) Deliver my furniture. Until this day I still don't have my furniture. That was all the furniture I had and to think of it being gone hurts. Living in these economic times I can't afford to lose all my stuff.
PLEASE THIS IS A WARNING BASED ON MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Keep in mind I still don't have my stuff.

Today is November 30th and still I have no furniture and no comments from Neighbors Moving and Storage. They took my furniture and they don't care if I get it or not. Oh...but they did send me a email informing me about the balance owed on the move and how I needed to send a check or money order to Neighbors Van Lines. I never got my furniture and they are trying to collect on the balance. Are they kidding me? I have been more than patient. Please anyone reading this based on my experience please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Just to update...I still don't have my furniture. I called again today Nov.25 and talked with a woman from the South Florida office who according to her, she and another guy are the managers of out-of-state moving. She stated she didn't have any information to help. I was surprised since she stated they are over out-of-state moves and there was no one else higher I could talk to. I would think someone could help....especially since you are suppose to be a professional company. Right?
She told us to give her 20 minutes to make some calls and that she would call back. I informed her that no ever calls back and warned her I would be calling back if she doesn't. I waited and she called back in about 15 minutes stating she knows why the shipment is delayed. She stated the truck broke down...something to do with the radiator or something. I listened and informed her that she was reading something old from the system because this is what they originally told us the first time the furniture was delayed almost 2 weeks ago. She was surprised and stated that's the only information she could get. I then filled her in on everything that was told to us....of course to update her because she is suppose to be in charge but didn't have a clue. Even she seemed to be surprised and stated she would be upset too but had no answers. Again, keep in mind this is her area as manager. WOW!
She did eventually tell us that it would be there this Saturday or Sunday. Again, since she hadn't talked to anyone and couldn't give us any information how did she come up with this timeframe? Of course I inquired. She was estimating against the Thanksgiving holiday. According to what I don't know. I then asked her a simple question, would she accept the answers they have been giving me if it was her furniture missing? she stated no I wouldn't. I am just so frustrated with these people and will be updating you regularly.
This is a true story and can not be rebutted or denied. Also this is still happening to me. Be Aware! I strongly encourage you to be AWARE!
