After using Netspend for several years I suggested that my partner get an account and sad to say I am shocked at the level of service that I have received since -- First off, when calling customer service, I have to go to the "report my card lost/stolen option" to actually get a customer service rep as there is no option on the IVR menu to speak to one.

When I finally get through to an agent, after waiting 15 to 20 minutes, The person is obviously from an outsource company based in India or some other 3rd world country who has no idea how to answer more complex questions and even though they still charge me the .50 cents for calling them they actually don't answer my questions as they do not work for the company. When I try to speak to a supervisor, who is also a third world person and cant answer my question and still had to wait 30 minutes I told her that I wanted to speak to a manager from the corporate offices in America she put me back on hold and after waiting 45 minutes I hung up.

The question I had was that several declines from companies that I had set up for automatic payments and was charged $35. each time my card was declined by the company that I set up payment with!   I was originally blaming the companies as there was plenty of money in the account when the transactions were to post to my account
after doing some searching and downloaded my partners statement via the download option on the Netspend Website I found very odd discrepencies between the online version and the Excel Spreadsheet version.

The online version stated that my Direct Deposit went in and I was able to use the card physically and that there was a normal balance transactions BUT when I looked at the downloaded version of my statement in Excel, right after my direct deposit went in his balance went to one dollar and stayed that way for 3 to five days and there was a new column to handle the physical card transactions meanwhile anything that was an automatic payment was declined as insufficient funds and my partner makes well over $1000 per paycheck and is a major spendthrift so there is no reason to hold his money.

My only conclusion is the money is being held and used for interest bearing for Meta Bank Profit -- So I suggest everybody who uses Netspend either check the downloaded version of your account for oddities or just be smart and close your accounts ASAP, If you do not have an All-Access Card Do not bother it is really not all that is say it is!!
