We got a title loan through NEAF.  As the last payment approached, my husband called to get the final payoff amount and sent it in by money order (they did not take debit/credit cards at that time).  They lost or never received the money order but instead of calling us or sending a notice, they repossessed the car within just a couple weeks of the last payment due date.

We called and paid all fees/payments the same day it was repossessed.  However, it took them a full week to get all the paperwork processed so we could get our car back because they kept losing it.  Also - the repo company they contracted to caused two flat tires and damaged our transmission because they towed it improperly.  They assured us we could file a claim with their insurance company.  They also stood us up several times when we needed to get important items out of the car and offered to waive some of the extra storage fees we were incurring because of NEAF's disorganized office, then went back on the offer.  The repo company ignored all phone calls and mail requesting information on how to submit an insurance claim for the damage they did to my car.

NEAF has ignored all of our attempts to contact them regarding this manner.  Their delay in getting the paperwork processed promptly cost us hundreds of dollars in storage fees.  The repo company they used caused hundreds of dollars in damage to my car.  We submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and their response was "due to confidentiality, we cannot comment on this complaint."

I have pictures and documentation from my mechanic.  I have a receipt from the money order we initially purchased.  I suspect that they received and then lost my payment because of they way they mishandled our paperwork during the repo, but unfortunately, I don't have the tracking number so I can't prove that they received it.  Eiher way, they treated us horribly and cost us hundreds of dollars due to their incompetence and the incompetence of the businesses they contract out to.
