My wife and I moved to San Diego from Massachusetts. We made a BIG mistake by calling New Frontier Van Lines. Our first initial call was polite customer service. He quoted 5 grand. And we sent a deposit of 1,600.00. And afterwards the problem began. The next call was from the insurance office of New Frontier Van Lines. He was yelling about the deposit then needed for insurance. After that encounter I called back and complained about that guy being rude.

They quickly assured us that they would talk to him about a professional towards customers. So now we are waiting on New Frontier Van Lines to show up for our move. They claim to be brokers and they will send drivers from Direct Van Lines. We were annoyed by this but our mistake to continue with this bs from New Frontier Van Lines. It was awful to be disrespectful to elders, we thought but to Direct Van Lines we were just a number. No show or call on the 1st day.

On the following day, New Frontier Van Lines called us, and lied to us. They said they were outside our building, at 10am. They were going to grab some breakfast and return in 30 minutes. The movers returned at 3:50pm! Now New Frontier Van Lines dispatcher made more excuses for these Direct Van Lines movers. I asked how was your breakfast, one mover say it was good while grinning. Anyway the truck was packed and then Direct Van Lines demanded $3,500.00 in cash before the drivers left. We gave them a grand in cash, and talke to the rude dispatcher, and the understanding owner Joe.

The plan was to wire the money to an account. I wasn't going to do that, we said the drivers will be paid upon delivery. The Direct Van Lines driver told us that they will be in San Diego before we get there. Another lie. In our travels, at a hotel in El Paso. The rude dispatcher called again demanding more money. He yelled that our belongings were still in New York. We spoke to Joe, the owner of Direct Van Lines. He said our balance was 8 grand minus our deposit. The total was 11,850!! How we went from 5 grand then 9 grand to 11,850 is ridiculous.

We arrived in San Diego CA. We stayed in hotels along our cross country road trip. Now we have to stay with friends and more nights in hotels. Why because Direct Van Lines is holding our belongings for ransom of 8000.00. We got some calls from New Frontier Van Lines, stating that they only held our belongings for more than 30 days to come up with the 8 grand. I asked you at this point of renting an apartment, and renting some furniture. Would you pay Direct Van Lines any money? Disgusted L Johnson San Diego CA
