Was contacted by New Life Consultants on May 27 that convinced me that they could get a loan mod.  I signed agreement not completely reading it as Jeff Wise reassured me it was just a formaility.  I read through the agreement and contacted Jeff the following business day to state my concerns that he told me things that had nothing to do with I signed.

He told me the only fee I will pay upfront would be $31.00.  The monthly payments I agreed to in the agreement ($1669.00) were to be held in an account during trial period of 6 months.  This was to prove that I could make that payment to the lender for the 6 month trial period.  I stated my concern was that I pay $10,000.00 to them, my mortage will go into forecloser, my credit score will be hurt, be behind 6 months on mortgage, and I will be referred to another Company that will want more money to assist loan mod.

I was assured by Jeff Wise none of the above will happen except my credit score is likely to go down 30 points and will be cleared up at 6 month point when loan is settled, but there will be no more fees, New Life Lawyers will be with me all the way through the process/program.

During this period New LIfe will collect copies of Loan, perform forensic audit on the loan, collect personal financials to work out loan settlement.   New Life was stated to have many experienced Lawyers on staff.

Every few weeks I would get a call to say "everything is fine".  At month 5, after I requested to know what the loan mod would be, I was told a New LIfe Attorney will be contacting me in a couple weeks to explain the settlement of loan mod.

On the day my last payment was made, I was referred to another Legal Firm (and it wasn't even a Legal firm) to finish the process.  I contacted this Company to find out , they don't have any Lawyers on staff, the Company had no financials or record of me or my loan situation, had me start to fill out a HAMP application, then stated he needs $3000.00 to "assist " in loan mod.

I addressed my concerns on this Company to New Life and they told me I should pay the $3000.00 and continue.   I requested termination of agreement and my money back in writing on Nov 18, was promised an decision on Nov 21.  I haven't been able to reach New LIfe since.

Files Complaint with BBB and AG.  Want to hire Lawyer to sue them.  References welcome.
