New Start Media claims to be City Wide Promotions, a legitimate business in Davenport, IA Telemarketer selling advertising on local football calendar Davenport Iowa

I received a telemarketing call from this company claiming to be selling advertising space for a local football calendar.  They had all of my information, and it sounded very legitimate. I spoke with "Sarah" who took my credit card information (stupid) then obtained an email address to email my receipt and advertising form to, and my physical address to mail 50 copies of the completed calendar after printing.

I noticed an out of state phone number on my caller id, and when I questioned why this was, "Sarah" commented that the call was probably routed through their "home office"-they were nationwide and handled marketing for local high school sports teams.  Seemed reasonable.  She gave me a toll free number to call her back at.  The toll free number rings to City Wide Promotions, which appears to be a legimate marketing company in Davenport. The call goes directly to voice mail. "Sarah" called me back within minutes of leaving my message.

The local number that came over on caller ID rings to a number that cannot accept voice messages.

The charge on my bank statement appears as New Start Media.  When I did not receive either my receipt or the advertising form, I googled the company name and found numberous reports of fraud-including comments and reviews of exactly the same scam I experienced all over their Facebook page.  I reported the fraud to my bank to dispute the charge and stop any additional charges.
