I received an envelope marked AUDIT BUREAU; (We need to hear from you).  I open it and it says that this is an Official Notification - Highest Urgency Requested for a Prize Guarantee to the final winners.  It was an advance notice of a Certified cash payments transfer of $21,000 if I send $9 to activate my account with them.  It wreaks of a scam and I wanted to dig up more info on them.

I looked up their info online and have come up with more info.  The letter is signed by a JOHN WINSTEAD(T) and online it is showing a JOE LAWSON as the Business Director/WEB ADMIN with a phone number of (816)842-5510 which is showing to a MARTIN SIMPSON K.C., MO 64116.  After I went to their website of WWW.OPPCOMPANY.COM it is showing the point of contact for Contest questions is a DYANA BAKER and also lists a different number of (816)842-4559. The hours of 8am-3pm Central time.  It shows the email as CUST_SERV@OPPUNL.COM. 

Oh by the way, they say it is a Skill Contest rather than a Sweepstakes.  The elementary Qualifying puzzle that I received was to "FIND THE 3 NUMBERS THAT TOTAL 10":  Really??

Upon looking at the FAQ section of their website;

Question 2 -  What is the difference between a contest and a sweepstakes?

Answer 2 -  Contests are a game of skill.  Winners are determined by ability, persistence, and correct answers.  Sweepstakes, on the other hand, are games of chance where prizes are awarded on the basis of luck and chance.

That's the loophole for the silly gradeschool puzzle to exempt this from being a sweepstakes.  Please check out their other answers as to why they can charge you for the conest and not a sweepstakes.  What a joke.

I haven't and will not be sending them any money, but will be documenting all mail from them.  I live about 2 hours from Kansas City and am a State licensed P.I.  If I have to I will go down there and physically check it out.  It makes me sick and really pisses me off that companies like this get peoples hopes up and take their money, especially people that might be on a fixed income.

I might be sending them copies of the SCAM reportings in the envelope that they sent me.  I'll let you know if anything else happens.  I just emplore everyone to NOT send these jackasses any money and keep track of ALL letters that they send you.
