Received a letter from Guardian Trust Investments, Inc (North American Direct Sweepstakes and Promotion Co)(unclaimed prize division) . The letter stated that I had won $119,000 payable by check to be delivered by a Special Courier Company.
Being a bit skeptical, I called but couldn't reach the number or person for a while. When I finally reached someone, he asked me if I wanted this publisized or kept confidential. He congratulated me and then told me to deposit the check and call him later in the day so that they could make arrangements to send my "Prize". Red flags went up!
I looked up the company names and found several reports of people who had received the same letter and had never received any money and that the checks that they deposited never cleared.
It is a good philosophy that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

i have just check my mail and recieved the exact same letter. Also says to contact Darla Simmons. The check is for 4185.00. I tried both phone numbers on the letter and it looks to be "cell phones" I have researched this a little and it seems to keep happening. Why arent these people being caught and charged with fraud? I think this is ridiculous and something needs to be done.
