I hired North Star Van Lines to move my belonginsg from Tennessee to South Carolina on 5/30/05. I paid the $400 deposit as the contract stated. They were two days late, coming to pick up my belongings,( Same as in other complaints on this company).

They did not get to my residence until around noon, with a truck loaded with 2 house holds of belongings on their truck. I told them that they could not get my belongings on this truck, so they took these two house holds of furinture to a storage area some where in the middle Tennessee area, then came back to my house at 6 PM to start packing and loading.

I was told by the Northstar employee,(Sarah if this is really her name), that they would send enough people to pack and load in one day. They sent two people to do the job. They wanted to work all night, but I made them leave at around 10 PM on Friday Night.

The next day they were supposed to come back at 7:30 am, but did not show up until around 10:30 or 11:00am. They started as soon as they walked through the house and wanted to know if this is going, is that going, I told them that I had sold my house and that everything was on the inventory list, and was to be taken.

When the driver arrives he only had one page of the inventory list that Sarah had filled out with me on the phone, which should have been 2 pages. I was told by Charlie Ohana, the dispatcher, or manager, or what ever title he was going by that day, that they were a reputable moving company and were concerned in customer satisfaction, what a joke, and that my belongings would be delivered in South Carolina on July 1st.

They told me that they couldn't take this or that, so I had to rent a 14 foot U-Haul truck at a cost of over $500.00 to me beside the amoung I paid North Star to do the job. I called them on June 29th to verify the date, then guess what, no delivery, no returned calls, this employee Ivanna answere the phone only to tell you that she knows nothing, and that Charlie is not in the office, but he will return your call as soon as he arrives, but guess what no return calls fro Charlie until I had a Deputy Sheriff call him on my behalf. He did return his call within an hour. Amazing huh.

I have talked to the Sheriff in Middle Tennessee where we moved from, and the Sheriff in South Carolina where we moved to, the Sheriff's office in Davie Fla. the city Police in Davie Fla. and the FBI in Dade County Fla.

Now if my belongings are not delivered on Thursday, July 14th, as I was promised by Charlie and the Driver Nadav, that picked up my belongings, I am filing a civil law suit aganist Charlie, Ivanna, Nadav, Izzy Tweg,(the owner of Northstar Van Lines) and North Star Van Lines the company.

I have video and digital photos of all my belongings, all of Northstar's employees that were there loading them and the truck, with the tag numbers, MC numbers, and Dot Numbers. I have fulfilled my portion of this contract as I promised, I paid the $400 deposit, half of the balance upon pick up, I even feed the driver and helpers, and let them take a shower in my home when they were finished loading my belongings.

All I want is my belongings to be delivered to me in good condition and end this night mare with this company. I challange you MR Izzy Tweg to contact me and get this settled once and for all.

After several long conversations with several Sheriff's, city Police, and even the FBI in SC and in Fla. I got my belongings. I will have to say that the two employees that picked up my belongings and delivered them, the same two guys did both, that they are an example of customer service, that the rest of this company lacks. Both of these guys, Navad, and Newt,(not sure if that is the correct spelling), did an excellent job in packing and taking care of my furniture. I did have several things that were scratched, and skinned up, but I would rather forget it than to try to get anything out of that crew in Fla. They are the most rude and unconcerned people that I have ever ran across in business to serve the public. Ivanna, will only answer the phone and tell you that she isn't allowed to give out that information, even though I was asking her to tell me where my belongings were stored. It was alwasy the same story, Charlie is the dispatcher and he is not in, but he will call you when he gets in, well guess what that call never does come, and if it does all you will get is it will be next week, over and over again. Then after you threated them with talking to an attorney or the law, he will tell you that he is not afraid of the law and he will go to court with you, but all he has to do is be honest and bring your belongings like they signed a contract to do. I wouldn't advise anyone to use this company. They are all a bunch of liars and will not do what they promise when they are trying to get your money. I really do think that if it hadn't been for the concerned driver and his helper, I probably would never have gotten my belongings. On the contract, they will ask you to sign a portion on the insurance, and it states that if your belongings are lost or damaged, they will pay you a grand total of $.60 cents a pound for your belongings. That would make a 10,00 pound load worth about $6.000 dollars. That is not going to replace much furniture or other belongings. I say thank you very much to these two guys, but the rest of the office sucks, and I would recommend using a national company, but not any out of Florida. You should look at the FBI's web site and see all the Fla. companies that they have indictments against. I hope that this will help someone make a better decidion than I did when selecting a company to be responsible for everything that you have worked for all of your life.

PS, Charlie if you read this, I would hope that someday when I am in Fl. I would like to meet you face to face, and see if you have the guts to talk to people face to face the way you do on the phone. Maybe someday we can see!!!!!!!!
