May 26th 2017 I purchased a 2015 Subaru Wrx from Northwest motosports after having test driven it a week prior, the odometer stated that the vehicle had 8,100 miles on it so I regretfully assumed that the car should be a sound ride. I ended up trading in my 2008 Honda Accord which was in sound shape and at 110,000 miles, just figured it might be a good time to trade in for a new ride. Nearly a week later I stopped in at a highly reputable Subaru shop to have the overfilled oil checked out and just to ensure that everything was safe on the car still, well the owner of said shop checked out the car very thoroughly and shortly after doing so has some very unfortunate news for me. He told me that the vehicle does not have the original engine block in it and on top of that the engine was actually from a junkyard! I was quite stressed to have learned this and I asked him how many miles were on this engine, he told me that there was no way to know, and then showed me the telltale signs of the junkyard motor, it had writing on the block with a colored high temp marker and a stamp on the front center of the engine block, he also pointed out the fact that the block had a very oxidized appearance having sat in a junkyard in the element's as compared to the rest of the components of the engine compartment. That night I text message both the salesman as well as the finance person who I had dealt with explaining the information that I had just learned and let them know that I would be down the next day to have this issue resolved, well I didn't make it in for two days because of work but that Friday I drove the Subaru back to Puyallup in order to return the vehicle and to hopefully reclaim my trade in. The accord was still there and it was now owned by nwms so I had to rebuy my trade in which I had originally owed $8,645 on for $9,450 at like 10%apr ending up owing over $11,000 on a car that I traded in at $8,645! On top of that it's now Tuesday of the following week and they have now run my credit a total of 7 times totally hammering my score, I'm still anxious about thier financing techniques and just hoping for this nightmare to finally be resolved somehow.
