I hope you read this before you buy. Norton is a complete waste of money. They are rude and not American. I got the searchns.com virus. Why? I am on internet all the time no problem. The Norton guy says it is my fault. I never saw a warning. Where was Norton? The internet says it is a take over search engine and does not recognize as a virus. How can you charge for anti-virus protection, get a virus and want to charge me $76 to fix it.
What did I pay them for? Don't be a sucker. Use anybody else. Don't let what happened to me happen to you. They live on reputation. They are worthless. Doesn't this prove it to you. Anybody is better. Even AVG and it is free. AVG caugth it on my other computer. It caught the problem. This is not an ad.It kicks Norton's a**. F**k Norton. Pick anybody but Norton.

If even anti virus cant detect all viruses the point is the simple ones are the main ones the anti viruses is supposed to protect your computer against! It's so funny to read have powerful Norton is but after getting suckered to get it and you get a virus, there's nothing this crappy software can do about it UNLESS YOU PAT MORE MONEY!!!
That's the hook and line and it got worse after Norton outsourced their technical support jobs to India! It's absolutely a waste of time since millions will find out about the greed and the obvious viruses placed on your computers by Norton staff to get more money to remove the viruses! So Norton will lose more money anyway and be replaced by their competition!

It's pretty common here for someone with no further cogent argument to do.
It just shows the poster's low IQ.
O-o-o-p-s, the mailmans at the door with my shill checks from Norton and a few dozen others.

That rebuttal is from Norton! I told them to Google: Norton rip off

The rebuttal came just minutes after I got off the phone with Norton.
What a coincidence? Especially," I don't work for Norton or any other software company." I have read other rebuttals about Norton. This might not the first time. You decide.
I have called three different times. I got a different price every time The second time was $100. The third time was $80. What kind of business is that? It is the same virus.. I got a virus because I needed a lease agreement. I was on a lawyers website. I downloaded a lease document and got the virus searchnu.com that is life. I tried to fix it myself down to the string value I paid Norton upfront for virus protection. I called them for help. Their job is anti-virus. I got one so fix it. I have already paid you so that I don't get a virus on my computer. You obviously have ability to fix it. So I paid you, so fix it. Isn't it just that simple.
The sad fact is that Norton is like AOL. You don't have an AOL email account or you don't use it. It just isn't cool. I understand that employers don't even consider candidates that have AOL emails. That will be Norton's fate. Everybody just like me is starting to see though them. To quote someone else on the internet Well there is another form of Ransom ware floating around, it is called Norton Anti virus Norton now insists it must charge its customers to remove malicious programs that Norton Anti virus missed in the first place. Poor Norton is tired, old, slow, out of date, and overseas outsourced. I have not spoken to anyone in the United States.

Chill, James...NO antivirus program will catch all infections..

They analyze patterns (heuristics?) and also catch identified invasions.
Even AVG will fail to catch everything out there.
The user is also responsible for using discretion on the sites they visit.
I have used McAfee and now Norton and I, at this point, prefer Norton.
Do you know what NSFW means. Some sites are identified this way and it literally means Not Safe For Work. Most of these sites can and will invade your computer, even through your antivirus, even AVG (a good program) as well.
If Norton can clean this from your computer for $76, it's likely a bargain. I got a nasty virus a couple of years ago while using McAfee and it shut my computer down. It cost over $150 at a computer shop to get it fixed.
No, I don't work for NORTON or any other software company.
