Just returned from the Pride of Aloha cruise(9/18-9/25/05). Food was the same everyday. NO condiments/toppings for the lettuce/salad. BBQ by the pool means "Nothing special". Pop is not free but coffee and ice tea is.. Go figure. You might lose out on a mixed drink sale. Desserts are not fresh. When asking for fresh sheets, the only way to do it was to put the Bedding on the bathroom floor with the wet towels. Found a stain on my bed and it wasn't mine.

Lots of disgruntled employees. They tell of their stories. Takes 3 months to get first check. One man almost lost his house. Cruise ships are not under US Labor Laws. If a company cares this much about their employees, look how much they care about their customers. I have to admit I was curious, however, they chose to take the job and then you get attitude when you ask for service. Just not right.

The luau was $95 a person. I figure the company made around $100,000. for one night. Not bad. One the way to the luau we were told by the bus driver we could stay as long as we wanted: "eat and drink up". After 2 hours, the bar was closing down and the food and deserts were shut down. We were told then that we had to go back to the ship. We were back to the ship at 10pm. Great timing to get us to pay more on the ship's bar. $100.00 for two drinks, dinner, and a show that was not put on by locals(they were the ship's staff that said they were authentic, yeah right from California).

The company gave gift certificates to all the married couples at the luau. How sweet to know that they are considered more instead of all the guests.

Towels and ashtrays were never replenished on the 3rd deck. You needed to bring it with you. Strange they have containers for fresh towels but none to be found. The crew were tired. You could see it in their faces.

Trip to Peal Harbor was $45.00 a person. When we got there, we found that it was a free tour with only a suggested offering. Every place we went hands were out for money but the service wasn't. One the way to the airport everyone was tired but we had to stop for a smoothie; the driver had "a friend" that made them. He called it in and then we FINALLY got to the airport.

I took a cruise on the Royal Carribean about 10 years ago. I felt like royalty. This time was different. The ship was dirty. the carpets were old looking like the carpets in old Las Vegas casinos/hotels. They say it is only 5 years old. I beg to differ. Serveral couples comiserated on the ship. What a way to enjoy your time.

Just shocked by the callibur of people working on the ship. Personal attire, language, hygiene and dental care was bad/attrocious. "Dress to the Nines" is a term this ship will never hear. They played the Theme to "The Titantic". That was my first clue this was a dud!

DO NOT GO ON THIS CRUISE!! Forewarning has been given.

I agree-been there, done that.......NEVER AGAIN!

Wild horses couldn't drag me on another cruise liner. One of the first anouncements to boarding passengers was a reminder that the crew depended entirely on tips for their livelyhood. Wonderful! I'm not a d**n passenger, I'm now a paymaster by guilt.
.
The fawning and pseudo smiling and friendly gestures by the cabin crew were completely transparent. Kissy kisy-leave big tippy. The mixed drinks were, to my thinking, excessively expensive. After all, no liquor tax out here in the middle of no where.
.
I am forced to admit. My wife loved it. In fact, she went on another cruise-during which I took a long trip on my motorcycle (on this continent).
A "cruise" would be acceptable to me if it were a legitimate way to get from point A to point B in travels. To go out in a big circle stopping
at a couple of ports replete with more hands out palms up...I don't think so. I liken that to riding circles on WalMart's parking lot for a couple of days on my motorcycle. Mmmmm-lunch at BurgerKing every day!
.
The final straw on the cruise: In so many words about 10:00AM on the last day, a quasi-polite "get the Fxxk out of your cabins and form a group in the dining room. We must prepare the vessel for the oncoming passengers." We were then
treated like trespassers. I was afraid a request might be made for passengers to climb over the railing and jump on to the dock. No more smiley-smiley! Just "keep moving". The initial fawned "welcome on board" was a distant memory.
