I received a call from caller ID 760-358-2007 (Ocatillo, CA), on Nov. 21, 2017 at 10:15 AM EST from a compant identifying themselves as NR Associates.

They start by saying that an action has been filed against me and that the IRS is prepared to issue a "1099-C" against me. But before they can go any further with the call they want me to confirm that the last 4 digits of my SS# match what they have on record - this is purportedly to ensure that are speaking with the right person. I reluctantly, and somewhat nervously, confirm those digits.

I went ahead because I have been hearing from this company for about 4 years now, approximately every 6 months or so, and nothing "bad" has happened yet. They then proceed to reference a delinquent "Core VISA" account from 2009 for $6,000 or so. I have never had such an account. I haven't even used a credit card since 2003. I have zero credit card debt, plain and simple. Over the four years of hearing from these scammers, the approach has varied slightly from time to time...sometimes it's IRS action and sometimes it's legal action, including arrest within 48 hours, that is being threatened.

It's hard to believe that what these people do is legal...I see them reported all over the Internet, consistently the same story, starting in approximately 2013 which is when my calls began. I've just found Ripoff Report - thanks for being here and hopefully you can help expose this company for what they are.

Now from "American Recovery Association"

AUTHOR: Joe - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, January 15, 2018

Recieved a call today from caller ID  630-280-3295 (Hinsdale, IL), company calling themselves "American Recovery Association". The call matter and approach were identical to all of the previous calls over the last 4 years. They claim, by the way, each time to have never called me before. These people are insidious and relentless. The debt they are attempting collect never existed. Period. Beware of these people.
