Because I can't afford legal help and my x can I represent myself after looking everywhere and finding no help my only income is ssi and after paying my rent electric n gas I have 65$ a month and the courts have said I am to pay 55$ of that to child support plus her attorney fees if I want to contest the court order I've sent the laws on ssi and all my bills showing I can't afford to pay support and still have diapers n my baby's need during my visits instead of help I went from 8 days a month to 4 and was told of I don't pay support I'll be out in jail , if a doctor says I'm unable to work and ssi says I'm unable to work how can they do this and make me homeless or put in jail ? How can they go against federal law that says child support can't be granted against ssi receipiants ? Because I have no legal help I have no idea where to go for help and everytime I contest the amount owed they tell me pay or go to jail n I'm afraid , I've filed for half custody and was denied even though I have stable home and was nothing but a good dad who just couldn't get along with the mom that needs help

There is somthing missing here.
You go through the entire report saying describing how you are broke, can't afford anything. Even to the point where you say you only have $65/month extra and they want $55 of that. But then you say you put in a request for half-custody, where you only have 4 days a month.
So if you can barely afford your own life now, how are you going to support a child for an additional 11 days a month?
By the way you are correct SSI can not be garnished. However, SSDI which is what you are most likely getting if you are considered disabled is able to be garnsished.
