Oasis Oasishosting Rip-off took yearly subscriptions & then disappeared Maplewood Minnesota

On Sep 03, 2002, I signed up for one year of service with oasishosting.com. It was $96. The site went down just after Thanksgiving. I got a few excuses, explaining that their RAID array went down. After a couple of weeks & still no service, I couldn't get a reply from them at all.

After a month with still no service, I switched to a new host and asked for a refund. Still no reply. No response of any kind to my emails or phone calls.

Im not sure what to do in this case, but Im going to start by writing a letter to the Attorney General in MN.

I did a search on Yahoo for oasishosting & I found 3 sites that had text describing the same outage. Two had moved to new hosts & never heard from Oasis, but the 3rd, kiml.net, resolves to an IP address within the Oasis range (209.208.50.160 - 209.208.50.175), and it's still up!

The registered owner of those IPs seems to be Atlantic.net, but they'll probably claim ignorance.
