Office Designs bait and switch Northbrook Illinois

I ordered a chair via amazon.com - order was fullfiled by company called - Office Designs. Paid $1500 for the chair and prompt delivery which was promised to be whitin a week (7 days). Amazon reported that the order was shipped on time and it is scheduled to arrive on the 14th of June. I took a day off work to wait for fedex and sign for the package, knowing if I don't do it the package will not be delivered. Somehow fedex driver didn't ring the doorbell and just left the notice on my door, which prompted me to set up a pick up of that "package" from fedex hub 10 miles away, which equals 2hrs drive in Brooklyn traffic.

When I finally got the "package" - it was an ENVELOPE with a LETTER inside!! - I paid $1500 and they sent me a letter!

In that letter they (Office Designs) are very sorry but the chair is not in stock and they want to inform me the chair will be delivered sometime around the 28th of June.

They (Office Designs) updated the shipping on amazon.com to look like they shipped the chair to me - so I was under impression that the package contains exactly what I ordered. They tricked amazon and me to think that everything is fine and the transaction goes as promised while in reality they just sent me a piece of paper.

When I called to tell them that I just spent 2 hrs in traffic and took a day off from work to get the package which was suppose to be a chair and turned out to be a piece of paper, person at Office Designs laughed and said that it shouldn't be a problem for me to wait 2 more weeks for the delivery.

Very bad experience with this company. Stay away from scammers like those.
