I change my oil in my vehicles every 2000 miles. One of my vehicles in not used in the winter, only started up and ran a few minutes every month. This is the vehicle that we will be speaking of. I had the oil changed last August.
I took it on a trip last month. When I stopped along the way, I noticed that I had oil spattered all over the back of my vehicle. I waited for the engine to cool a bit and then looked around on top and down below and found that my oil filter was so loose that it was barely on and thats where the leak was coming from.
I hand tightened it the best I could and then took it to a OCH there localy and had they fix everything. They informed me that the last OCH that worked on my vehicle had not tightened the filter correctly and suggested that I file a complaint with the main office.
I called the main office and filed a complaint. They contacted the OHC in Bend and they, in turn, called me. I explained to them what happened and they proceeded to deny that I had ever been in there even though I had proof that I had, and they also found my truck in their system. He then covered the phone, or thought he had, and started talking to someone in the office about how he had a lady on the line trying to feed him some BS (his exact words) about not doing a job right.
Then the owner got on the phone and proceeded to tell me that he was NOT going to take on any responsibility for anything that was done last year. I told him that I was not asking for any refund, I was simply asking him to make sure to tell his employees that they needed to be more careful. He snapped back at me that he was NOT going to discuss anything or take responsibility for anything that happened last year. I finally gave up trying to reason with him and just hung up.
I'm glad that I was able to catch the oil leak and find out where it was. Had I not, and the oil filter came off and I lost my engine, I would have been out a bunch of money. Reason being that they would have never accepted responsibility and replaced it for me.

Well I First want to tell you that I work on the corporate side of the company for which you were dealing with a franchise anyways if your oil filter was on as loose as you said it was you would have not made it out of the store originally because oil would be literally spraying all over the place with the amount of pressure going through it, So there is one reason why anyone that knows a hint of anything that has to do with cars would think you are some nut case crazy retarded woman, I feel sorry for the people that fixed it having to listen to you, Second of all as you know your vehicle has a 3 month/3,000 mile warranty which ever comes first so why would a company accept your advice when they have no ties to your vehicle anymore so all that would do is them admitting guilt, and third of all all those words your hearing the technicians are for a reason anything they touch they double check the tightness to make sure its one there, so what it comes down to is that you had no right blaming oil can henrys for something they didn't break, and I don't believe you that you change your oil every 2000 miles on your car, you don't need to lie to kick it, so what just by chance the first time you didn't do it on the most ridiculous mile interval I ever have heard and seen over the past 7 years ive been running the stores that all this happens on that time,
