I bought a 2002 dodge intrepted from ole ben franklin motors. the car was purchased for my daughter, she is a single mom and doesnt have any credit. she has not had too much trouble with the car itself but when she tried to trade it in for something else she found out that she is "upside down" in the payoff. we have been told we were charged twice the amt the car was worth. so she is stuck with the car at least untill we can pay it down to a amt that can either be used as a trade in or sell it outright. so needless to say i have a hard time believing ole ben franklin has your best interest at heart. i wont even mention the interest rate. one thing is for sure we wont be going to see ben anytime soon.
thanks for listening

I know how they operate and you are not what they car about. The bottom line is what they care about. They most likely where laughing at you and your daughter when you drove away, probably sounded like this " HAHAHAHAH, I just nailed them for 29.9% over 60 months. Man I just made an easy $1,200 in my pocket and $20,000 in the companies"........ READ BEFORE YOU SIGN AND SHOP AROUND!!! There are much better places than OLE "BEAT UP" BENFRANKLIN!!!!!

PLEASE do homework before making a decision. Their is no doubt you paid 2x's the amount it was worth. After working in finance of used car dealership I am convinced there are too few who actully have your best interest at heart. Seriously, they could care less. You prob paid 29% INTEREST , they usually say"you dont have credit what do you expect" when you ask about the high interest.shop around. Dont believe what people tell you. I am pretty sure some one some where could have gotten her a better interest rate. Have you checked your credit report to ensure your daughter has even been reported onto credit to boost her credit score? unless you call them and request it, prob has NOT happened.

As far as late payments affecting your credit score. with them, as long as she was not 30 DAYS it will show as "ontime" even 29 days will show ontime. So please dont hesitate to call. And also request it in writing. I do also believe they were WELL aware this deal would leave your daug. upside down. They are paid to think about these things. Trust me, unless you get a brand new salesman....they knew...
