I would like to inform anyone who is thinking of doing business with this company of the following.

- This company has been open for 1 year (they claim 12 years) and the "owner" has sold 2 previous companies which have since shut down.

- The "Owner" uses a contractors license which is not his and has no business over seeing production of any work.

- They employ criminals, individuals who have felony's and in most cases are on drugs. Think about this when you are speaking to someone on the phone. In addition they offer a very poor pay plan along with no opportunity for medical or any other benefits.

- In most cases they market claiming to be involved with the gas company. This is in no way true. In fact they over price in almost all scenarios. Further more they do not cross reference to the national do not call list.

Thank you for reading and I do hope anyone who thinking of doing business with them does some good research. Be the judge for yourself. I'm only expressing facts.

When They Send People To Your Home...

AUTHOR: TheStatutoryApe - ()

POSTED: Saturday, April 26, 2014

I arrived at my grandmother's home today to find a sales rep from this company (Pacific Coast Home Solutions) in her living room speaking with her.  I sat in to listen and help my grandmother with understanding what was being discussed.

The sales rep was offering a safety walk-in bath/shower installation, which my grandmother could certainly use, and saying they were able to give her a very generous discount (allegedly below wholesale price) in return for assisting them with promoting their company and products through something called HIP (Home Investment Program).

The rep explained what would be asked of her:

  • They wished to take before and after photos of the installation.
  • She (or I) would be asked to author an online review of their company.
  • She would be asked to refer at least three people.
  • She (or I) would be asked to participate in a video testimonial describing our experience with their company.
  • She would not be allowed to disclose the discounted amount that she paid for the installation.

They stated that they run this program as a means of establishing consumor repore in the area and to get the word out about their company's services because they prefer not to use print media, commercials, and other traditional means of advertising their business.  This seemed a bit fishy to me so I decided to look up the company on my phone while they ran a video presentation on a laptop for my grandmother.

The online reviews I found for this company were overwhelmingly bad.  I did notice, however, that nearly all of the negative reviews were specifically in regards to their telemarketing practices.  I supposed that this did not necessarily mean their actual services were poor but it definitely reflected poorly on the company.

The reviews I found that were about their actual services nearly all appeared to be glowing and I recalled that part of this special deal they were offering to my grandmother involved authoring an online review of their services which cast doubt in my mind as to the athenticity of these reviews.

While the rep was working up a price quote I contacted a friend who has experience in contracting and asked if he had heard of these people before.  He had not but also thought that the offer seemed a bit fishy.  When the rep came back with a price quote they said that before the discount the total came to approximately $23,000 for a simple no frills walk-in shower.  After the offered discounts the price would be approximately $13,000.

I fired off the quote to my friend who gave his opinion that it was outrageously overpriced.  I told the rep that I thought we should take some time to consider the offer and that if he could leave his quote and some information we would get back to them after we had put some consideration into making such a large investment.

At this point the rep stated that we could do that but if we wished to take advantage of this special "HIP" offer we had to do so right then and there.  If we did not commit to their offer we would not be able to receive the approximately $10,000 discount.  I said that I did not feel comfortable making such a big financial decision without doing a bit of research first and that my research so far into the company had turned up some very poor reviews.

The rep began to explain and, seeing where they were going, I admitted that those reviews were indeed primarily regarding their telemarketers.  The rep offered some papers from a briefcase saying that the company was recommended by some sort of homeowners organization that I had never heard of.  They said that they were well rated by the BBB but when I was checking online the BBB site stated that the company's profile was not available because it was being updated.  They suggested I go to YouTube where I could find several videos of people who were happy with their services which recalled to me the section of the special offer requesting video testimonial.

In the end I sent the rep on their way.  They were not rude even when I, politely, suggested that this appeared to be some sort of scam.  The rep was professional enough and, while they pushed a bit more as they parted, they did not give us grief or try making a hard push.  I did note that they did not leave behind any of their documents or brochures, giving the impression that they had no further business with us, but I suppose the rep may have simply forgotten to do so.

I attempted to look up some prices on walk-in showers before writing this and most sites I found only offered the ability to get quotes.  The prices I did find were significantly lower than the discount offered by the rep.  One site had offers including labour at approximately $2,000-$3,000 but I think these may have simply been for conversions (not complete installations).  Product prices for just the showers/baths ranged from $3,000 up to $15,000 for "high end" models and we certainly were not looking for anything high end.  These prices give me the impression that either their offer was a complete ripoff or we were not actually getting much of a discount if any.  I am unable to vouch for the relative quality of service and product on offer though.

So this is my experience with Pacific Coast Home Solutions.  I have endevoured to be fair and relate said experience as plainly as possibly without exageration or too much bias.  For me, personally, the press to sign immediately without the benefit of proper research is incredibly poor customer relations at the very least and a pretty sure looking sign of a scam.

Abusive, Rude Service

AUTHOR: D railroad - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 03, 2012

... and to you K Simmons and the "Employee," purportedly from this Pacific Coast Home Solutions, while the original post may have slightly embellished on the truth, nonetheless, those small "creative" descriptions are indicative of the image you have established, and continue to build on in Orange County, or Southern California, period. Good customer service starts long before being awarded a contract and an actual customer.

The image and reputation your are creating, at least in Orange County, California, is one of an abusive, rude, self-serving telemarketing company, repeatedly ignoring the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry, violating Federal telephone marketing regulations AND individual, repeated instructions to your group's personnel. Not only have we and other O.C. home owners registered complaints about your entity to the Federal Gov't's DNC, but have individually and personally phoned your company, many of us more than once, instructed your entity to cease and desist from making numerous, chronic and/or otherwise repetitive telephone solicitation calls and received assurance that all such future calls would cease! They have not ... your entity continues to make repetitive, chronic telemarketing calls, ultimately resulting in nothing short of harassment.

Aside from your rude, abusive and inconsiderate (and, apparently, desperate) telephone marketing tactics, if your entity is as successful as you have implied it to be in your post/rebuttal as well as on your web site, there should be absolutely NO reason for your organization to continue these abusive, inconsiderate business practices. Further, in response to your comment about your web site (not that it is remotely related to your abusive "telemarketing" tactics, but, since one of your "employees" broached this subject...) many of us find your web site remiss in adequate, essential and necessary consumer information, such as local phone numbers, physical location (at least for your main or "headquarters" office), key management personnel, etc. Reputable companies, truly proud of their heritage, success, structure, with nothing to hide, etc will not go to great lengths to intentionally obscure or conceal any form of company identification on their web site (again, key management personnel, main office location, local phone number, etc). I, for one, would avoid a company who lacks such initial company contact information (main office address, phone number) and key personnel and who is so desperate that they not only find it necessary to use telemarketing to sell their supposedly "reputable" services but who must resort to these rampant, pervasive and harassing telephone solicitation tactics to remain in business.

Fyi, for those having issues with this group, Pacific Coast Home Solutions, whether the subject rude, inconsiderate and abusive telephone solicitation tactics or poor, inferior services, their address is 4155 East La Palma Avenue #500, Anaheim, CA 92807, Phone: (714) 622-1700.

Oh, also for your information (PCHS), I am NOT a "disgruntled" employee OR former/current customer but simply just one more local consumer who has been doggedly harassed by your unprofessional sales methodologies (repeated, invasive, harassing phone calls!). As regards your referral to you BBB rating, we will be filing a complaint with that organization regarding your abusive, rude sales practices as well as encouraging others to do the same.

Company violates Do Not Call National Registry

AUTHOR: Charles Kempler - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Reputable companies do not harass over the phone or violate the National Do Not Call Registry. I am inclined to believe the posted complaint about Pacific Coast Solutions due to tonight's phone call to my home. The company did not supply me with a call back number when I asked for their office number and hung up. I did mention at the end of the unpleasant call that our home was on the registry and I would report them. Their approach smacks of the fast lane hustle. Avoid PCS.

Pacific Coast Home Solutions - Policy

AUTHOR: PCHSConsumerCare - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 03, 2011

I would like to repsond to the posts herein regarding Pacific Coast Home Solutions operations and the way they conduct business.

PCHS is a family owned and operated company. The key people eat, live and breathe this industry. With much success of their previous company that sold to a group of investors they realized this is where they want to be. With families of their own, they see and reap the benefits of helping hard working individuals rebuild, remodel, restructure the lifestyle within the walls of their property. Whether it's the exterior of the home, the custom vinyl windows, insulation, hvac, roofing we are here to help homeowners' increase the value of the property for re-sale to bringing the comfort in the home they deserve.

We are fortunate to have such well-established partnerships with major companies such as Owens Corning, Green Fiber, Coolwall Supercote, etc. These don't come with fly-by-night rip off companies. It's dissapointing to see the negativity that has derived from the success of these hard working leaders who employ 250+ individuals. The opinions of "you" the posters that we employ ex-convicts or drug users is obsurd. Background checks are performed on each individual- regardless of color, race, or creed. Discrimination does not exists within the company, so it's a wonderful array of colors and personalities. If you chose to judge and call out an individual that takes a bus to get to work 'lower class', then that's your perogative and judgement. We see them as just another human being trying to work hard to make a living. The comments about the type of people that are employed are insulting. We have a staff of approximately 250 employees and managers all who have went extensive training through our University to qualify for the position and do it right.

On a business and personal level I am in disbelief at how illl-willed some people are. We live in California, our State protects consumers. With agencies like BBB, and California Homeowners Association, Contractors License Board our success and recognition lie heavily on the ethics and operations of our business. We have an excellent score with all agencies listed above- and that's simply because we present a good product, we are knowledgable, and we get it done right the first time in a timely manner... I would hate to think we are going to be accused of 'forcing the BBB staff to give us an A grade' as we are accused of throwing down a contract and pushing a homeowner into signing it.

It was mentioned on a post that our Sales Manager calls the customer if the customer decides to cancel. How that is deemed 'negative' is beyond me. That is called PERSONAL ATTENTION! That's how far we will go to insure our customers satisifaction. With 100 orders in the works, she will take the time out to call the customer to find out why they are cancelling and if there is anything we can do to keep their business. I call that outstanding service, and for consumers who have been on the fence and felt a company representative reach out and offer you personal attention and care, it does make a positive difference whether it makes the sale or not.

I wish I could offer a resolution to the angry person(s) on this site. However, it's a mute point because they are not customers and seek nothing but the spread of their negativity throughout the net. The truth is in the numbers, certificates, scores, licenses, partnerships and customer letters which I will be happy to post :)

Good Day.

Pacific Coast Home Solutions - The Real Facts

AUTHOR: K.Simon - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 23, 2010

The report on our company, Pacific Coast Home Solutions, appears to be written by a former employee who is misinformed regarding basic facts about the company and whom is also disgruntled by his inability to retain his position of employment.

This is a family owned and managed business which was started 13 years ago in 1997. Pacific Coast Home Solutions is a dba for our Home Improvement operations.  The owner is the license holder, and this can be verified through the California Contractors State License Board. Our CEO previously founded and operated a very successful home improvement business. That business was acquired by a group of investors and it is still operating today.

The collective experience of our owners and managers is well over 50 years in our specific industry. We have a spotless record with the Contractors License Board and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We have been screened as an approved contractor for the League of California Homeowners which allows us to participate in programs designed by utility companies and lenders to assist homeowners in acquiring energy efficient home improvements. We are also members of organizations including Efficiency First, Resnet, CACM, and CAI.

At PCHS we place a strong emphasis on acquiring the best possible staff to work for us. We offer our employees compensation plans that are above standard in our industry with many opportunities to excel based on performance.

We have many, many satisfied customers who are willing to refer PCHS based on their experiences with us.  Rather than being misled by untruths, please visit our website at http://www.pacificcoasthomesolutions/ for more factual information about our company.
