I had just relocated to the state of Florida, with my wife and 2 children, in dire need of a job. I saw the ad in the newspaper, and I called for an interview. I was interviewed in January of 2003,and was told that although my experience was not extensive in car sales, my potential to be a salesman was incredible. On the second day of training, we were told that only those that were deemed qualified for the job would be selected and required to pay $549, which would be refunded within 90 days. Only if we didn't voluntarily quit.

I did what I had to do to borrow the money, promising the lender that I'd repay in 3 months, while I got my self well grounded in the sales industry. Little did I know, that I would be let go just two weeks later, February of 2003.

The excuse I was given was that the business was slow, and given the lack of experience I had, they did not want to waste my time nor theirs. I asked them if they could please give me a chance, however, they insisted that the timing was bad, and they had to let me go. I ask myself, is this how they make their money. Ripping people off, and taking advantage of the fact that sometimes one will do anything to survive?

I have yet to pay this money back, and I want justice to be done. It's not fair, and people all over need to see the type of con artists that are out there just using people for the money they don't have. I want to ensure this doesn't happen to others.

I've been given the runaround, unanswered calls, and unresponded emails. They have had me bouncing back and forth between World Wide Consulting Services and Palm Bay Chevrolet, practically begging for the money that corresponds to me legally. If you can please help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

You have an excellent case for small claims court.

AUTHOR: Kim - (U.S.A.)

Please be sure you keep everything you have on this. If you have a copy of the check save it and file a claim in your local court. I have heard of car dealers pulling every trick in the book, but having you pay for training, then terminating you is absurd.

NO Legitamate job will require any up front investment from you. I work for a Fortune 500 company and they paid for everything when I was trained. 3 years later I'm still with them and it's worked out great.
