was contacted by e-mail not to cash $10 rebate check that was coming to me in the mail because bank it was drawn on was in trouble.

received check 1 week later and held onto it for a couple of weeks and checked with my bank to see it there would be a charge if the rebate check came back---there would be.

I waited another 2 weeks and still no rebate check to replace the bad one.

I called Panda customer service and the representative assured me that the check that I got several weeks earlier was indeed good.

so, I cashed it . 2 weeks later it came back and a $20 charge was added to my checking account

I still not have the "good" rebate check and now I am out $30

Panda does apologize for the delays on these rebates. It is no intention of Panda to commit fraud on our customers. We utilized a 3rd Party rebate company that took our money, sent out the checks then filed for bankruptcy leaving over 2600 customers with bad checks. We tried to warn everyone the check was bad. What we did not do, is execute the replacement checks as quickly as expected. They should all be going out next week. We are paying all bank fees for those who had bounced checks. We are also offering a free upgrade to 2009 version for those who are only using 2008 as well as a free two months extension for the inconvenience of what has happend. One thing to make clear, is that we paid the rebate company for the checks that were sent out, they just did not make that fund available to the customer. It is a big financial burden to repay all rebates and all of the fees, but Panda is commited to it's customers. We were given 3 days notice that the funds would not be available for all the checks they sent out....
