I erased my Hard Drive with a Software that states everything will be gone. Then installed Microsoft Full Windows XP Professional only. Then installed Panda Platinum 8.05.01, I downloaded from the Internet earlier and saved on a CD, being the most recent with my Key. It alerted me to near 500 viruses or more, it kept adding more to clean. Then my Computer alerted me to reinstall my Microsoft Windows XP CD. I was off the Internet, I did it all off-line.
When I went on-line and Panda updated my Software it became version 8.05.02 and stopped going after my Software. Then while I'm on-line an alert about Firewall Error followed by Antivirus Error. I could not enable the Firewall or the Antivirus settings. I tried Restart several times, nothing. I looked into the files of the Panda Software and found the Pav sig file was gone. When Panda is installed in the Computer and I'm off-line, it alerts me that my ID is wrong, yet if I'm on the Internet its accepted. If I'm on the Internet sometimes it says its wrong, its a completely right ID. Something unknown to me interupts the connection when I'm on the Internet and alerts me that my ID is wrong, yet its completely right.
They don't respond to email of the problem. They send email to buy more of the same. Or if its the 2004 version and a few months old or less and has problems they require me to pay for the 2005 version. I bought 2 of PIS 2004 and 2 of PIS 2005 and 1 TruPrevent and 1 Antivirus and Firewall 7.0, the new versions worked better for a short time.

I must disagree lorrainne

Thanks for the effort Lorraine I know you meant well. I read through what was written. It was a fresh hard drive totally erased and ready for software, when it became time for the Antivirus and Firewall it failed and bought something else and it works. Panda works for some people and not others, some people encounter different things on the internet. Some paid for software do better or worse than free software, yet some free software do better than others, some worse, because some have spyware to promote ads, or to spy on how well it works. Its possible an unknown virus was there and not detected, or a software problem, therefore system restore might be good or might be worse.

You can get everything you need online for free to keep your computer safe.
AdAware for spyware.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
AVG for anti-virus protection.
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/10/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
Zone Alarm for your firewall.
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp;jsessionid=Dj7J9T5noW0Ji9O3JjsuTUAQMf1gCGCOWiDHUA5xPPJu2N2n0tFy!1728644743!-1062696903!7551!7552!NONE?dc=12bms&ctry=&lang=en
I always have those running and I never get anything onto my computer when I'm online. I did pay for the Pro version of AdAware so I could get AdWatch, which runs all the time and stop spyware before it gets onto my computer. That saves me from having to run a check once or twice a week with AdAware. It's not needed though if you can't afford it, just remember to check your computer often for spyware and AdAware will remove it for you.
If you told WinXP to reformat your drive before you did your last install of it you should be fine, if you have used system restore to the point before you put Panda on it. If you just reinstalled XP over the top of your prior installation of it or used the repair option, you could still have nasties on there. If it's still a mess, install XP one more time and make sure you have XP reformat the drive first, then install it on your C drive and you will be fine. Next put on AdAware, AVG and Zone Alarm and you will be safe when you are online.

I solved the problem

I bought another software from someone else. I get the best service from another software, if I have problems with it, I can download a better version without paying more and when I renew I can get 3 of them for less than half the price of Norton or Panda. Panda does nothing but expect more money for something that won't work right, its money upon money and the years worths did not finish, they won't fix a problem. There solution of System Restore is nothing, there is nothing to go back to and not worth the effort, its at the fresh install stage and nothing more there, just: WinXP Pro, Computer drivers, Windows Updates, Panda Updates. This remove and reinstall is no value, unless you like doing the same again and again for amusement, same result. One computer did use it for a month before failing, no more, never again. They can't prove it works, I can't prove it works, its a waste of money trying to prove it does work. I'm happy now, I'm staying away from Panda Software, its a wasre of money.

My guess is that there firewall is made by Sygate, the version they use can be broken into. I used a version of Sygate for a test and I had several programs I had to remove because they broken in. Pest Patrol found KaZaA in Wpsdrvnt.sys once it removed it was normal.

Why sell me something that goes bad, then can't fix it. Then write to me, don't use it. I can't possibly use it. Sure its great, write to me, uninstall it. Now where is the compensation? Tell me buy the newer version, only to go wrong later too and it did. To buy theirs it would be expensive. If I had paid a $100 to begin with and went bad the moment I tried it or short time later, buy it again and again could be expensive. I could buy 3 for $39.99 or $24.99 for one person or in the store for near $38 for one person from a different company (not Panda!) and if I have problems they fix it (not Panda) or I get newer versions, Upgrades (not Panda!). Its tested for Windows with a Windows logo (not Panda!). Can you see what is better, how strange Panda is. If I buy just 2, one is Panda Platinum Internet Security 2004 and other 2005. I write I have problem with Panda PIS2004, Uninstall it they write, I write about can't use, they write, use the Panda PIS2005 and it goes bad too, did they really help me? (not Panda) If I can buy or use some other software and have no problem, does that prove something.

Panda Software people are difficult to reason with. I bought several software from them. I'm having trouble getting them to see the problem. Whatever the problem is Panda Software people are trying hard to over look the problem. I send email about a problem and there cure is uninstall it or do what I have already done. How times do they plan to use the reasoning I should do what I tried to do again, again,..... I bought something to use, not dump and forget it. There solution is for me to uninstall and not install it. I bought several Panda Platinum Internet Security 2004 v8.0 or 2 of v8.03 and downloaded there v8.05.01 and when I complain or explain a problem, there solution is dump it and reinstall it, now its became just unstall it. I also bought 2 of Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 v9.0 now there solution is for me to use that. I assume I'm to skip the Panda Internet Security 2004 v8.05.01 and use the Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 v9 what happend to compensation.

Panda sent email from same person, carbon copy response. What good does System Restore do when I get less than 15 minutes of use, its a fresh install, what could I gain, its at the start, almost back as far as it goes, I'm trying to get what I paid for. I paid for the use of nothing. Panda is just a waste time, soon they will ask for more money to buy some more. There Firewall is nothing, easy for them to break into, and dump my virus file, maybe I should of bought there Antivurus only and used Norton Personal Firewall 2005.

Panda emailed me

10-26-05 Panda Software emailed me about how to uninstall. When Panda Software does email its not the subject, it does not fix the problem and the money I spent on there Software is a waste of money. So far the only Software I tried that works is Panda TruPrevent 2005. Truprevent 2005 only works if its aware of my Computer to update it, once I remember it would deny me updates because it was unaware of me, it wrote I had the wrong ID, the ID was Right because it never changed it and I have several months of service left.

Thanks, yet System Restore is not worth it because one computer is a fresh install and the other went to blue screen with no options. Blue screen wrote "Stop: C0000135" and "winsrv was not found". I saw it wrote winsvr.exe somewhere. All that happend was the start up of the computer, then a blue screen, that was used for almost 2 months. I just erase the Hard Drive and start over. They don't fix what I have, they want me to buy more that doesn't work either.

#4 Consumer Suggestion
use system restore
AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, October 24, 2005
You should try using your system restore and restore the whole thing to back to a previous time before you installed anything at all. Any system files you lost will likley return...deleted files like viruses shouldn't return.
If you did a download of this, it should have left a download setup type file somewhere where you would download things to. Mine for 2006 version was called PIS2006esd_en so you may have something like that...the icon was a picture of a panda so look for that.
Clicking on that should trigger the re-installation and give you an option to "repair" the installation or reinstall from scratch. That works for me. Also, if you are running a P2P fileshare that uses adware, that may make you lose your ability to run it properly. I couldn't use or re-install BearShare with Panda...when I did, I just had to keep re-repairing it, so I took it off eventually.
Hope that helps.

I found that the Computer could have been affect by a trojan. There is WINSRV.dll and WINSVR.exe. WINSVR is a trojan. I thought the screen said .exe, been mispelled as WINSRV?

My research, my explaination.

The only Computer using it had this error message: "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error. I researched with MSN Search and found some information on the subject it suggests installing KB885523, it can be found at: support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;885523, the Computer did not have the Adware T.V. Media Installed, why it failed I don't know, if it did, it was unplanned and hidden. The other Computer, I try and try to install Panda and it fails. I used a Software that writes it can clean the Hard Drive totally. The cleaner I make the Hard Drive, the better it works off-line with Panda, only with some versions of Panda. Some versions of Panda Platinum Internet Security don't work right, Version 8.05.01 attacked my Microsoft XP Pro Software as a virus, yet when I go on-line it stopped after conversion to 8.05.02, yet the Firewall fails and the Antivirus File is missing. Later I tried researching with Pest Patrol and found a scan contained Kazaa in the Firewall File, yet I search the File and don't find it, it could be hidden and I can't prove it. It could be the fault of a unknown virus or some outside or internet source. It could be something that prepares the Computer for invasion? If panda worked, and if I go off-line several times, each time it prompts for my ID, as being wrong. Its totally right. Sometimes when I'm on-line it prompts for my ID as being wrong, its totally right, I still have Internet Access, all the Computers at the same time.

I tried the first time it happend 2-19-5. Tried other times to email. The only email I get is buy more. I get email saying, most recent, buy Panda Platinum Internet Security 2006 and get it added on, to what remains of the other. I get email saying free, then farther into the email its writes the cost of buying it. One email was $19 I assume for 3 months, another wrote $39 I assume for 6 months, after it wrote was free. Today it stopped working on the only Computer that was using it for a short time. The Computer writes: Stop can't continue Error C0000135. I'm in the process of erase everything on the Hard Drive because there is no way to continue.
