Anyone that decides to walk into this place to purchase or lease a car should avoid it at all costs. After telling the so called salesperson which was assigned to us what credit tier we fall under, he still insisted on wasting our time and going through the whole weak salesman runaround and wasting 2 hours of my time. They will congratulate you and show you a piece of paper that you have been approved for a vehicle before even running any sort of credit check. Please be advised that the down payment and monthly payments they show you on that piece of paper is solely based on Tier 1 Credit (basically 700+ credit score). I confronted him about this and now he insisted that we purchase insurance first to show the bank we are serious!! Are you f****** kidding me? I wonder who trained these bozos with these amateur sales tactics. To show that we were serious we gave this so called salesperson a debit card and $1500 in cash. We told him specifically not to run the card for any amount until we see solid numbers or the actual monthly payment based on our credit, which he reassured us several times they won't run the card. In the end these bozos ran the card for $1000 without our consent or any reason as to why they did it. They basically then continue to tell me that they cant refund it immediately being its a Sunday and their accounting office is not open. Really? So you can run the card on a POS machine but yet you can't go back in and void the transaction? They were basically attempting to get us back in the next day and somehow have them work out a deal for us. Either way steer away from these clowns and their cheap a** sales gimmicks. Just a bit of information for these aspiring crooked salespeople in there, if you want to close a deal try being more transparent and honest with people, don't sell your bullsh*t to someone who knows the game. You never know who you might run into. Lose that bogus piece of paper showing numbers based on Tier 1 credit to try to lock people in. And if someone hands you a form of payment and they specifically tell you not to run it and you reassure them several times that you won't. Guess what? That's fraud and grounds for a charge back through my bank if said funds are not returned.

Why did you give them your credit/debit card?

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 13, 2016

Based on your post, I wouldn't go to this dealership either.

However, I have to ask, why in the world did you give them cash + your debit card before you purchased the vehicle?

I have purchased many vehicles through various dealerships and have never given any funds until negotiations are completed and a contract is in front of me (to read, review and correct where necessary).

Giving funds up front is a dead giveaway that you are about to be taken.

That line about buying insurance to show you are serious is your cue to turn around and walk out - immediately, without giving any money and without signing anything.

You know what to do. Get your financing from a credit union or bank before you ever shop for a vehicle. Shop for your vehicle online. Negotiate through email. Get a firm price before you ever visit the dealership for your test drive and 3rd party vehicle inspection. If you can't get a firm deal negotiated up front - don't consider working with the dealership at all.

It is unfortunate, but true, that many of the auto dealerships treat their consumers (us) as stupid. Prove them wrong by taking the financing out of their hands and negotiate before going there.
