Paschall Truck Lines PTL Owner Operator...I THINK NOT Murray Kentucky

I was hired by PTL and bussed to Murray Ky on August 1.2016. I was told PTL was a pet friendly company. I was unemployed at the time and desperately needed to work. I have a 21 year perfect driving record...no tickets,accidents, or drug problems. Upon arrival to orientation I read that the PET POLICY allowed dogs up to 100 pounds...I questioned this as I have a cat...I was told I could not bring my cat, who was raised in a truck, and has been my constant companion for 10 years...My recruiter said I could go the route of Owner Operator in the lease purchase program...then I could take my cat. I immediately went from company driver to O/O....I was then bussed to Indianapolis, on August 2,1016 where I would pick out a truck at Quality Carriers. I had no money at all. I ate dinner provided by PTL prior to leaving for Indianapolis.

I arrived in Indianapolis in the wee hours of the morning and sat at the bus terminal until 0730 when I called a cab to take me to Quality I arrived at 0800. Quality paid the cab driver, August 3,2016. There was several drivers along with me, all hopeful to find a truck and get to work...We were instructed to find a truck, we had til 5pm.We were instructed to find a truck we liked, then find a sales rep to log test drive, then go to window to get key...then we could go on 30 minute test drive...upon return, we had 10 minutes to lock in on truck...If you dont lock in the truck is up for grabs...If you lock in, you go to shaded area and sit down until your name is called to sign contracts...Last signing was at 4pm...If you dont find a truck by the last signing you have to leave the property as  the gate would be locked....you could return the following morning at 0800... We, the drivers were on our own.. Quality and PTL would NOT provide accomodations, transportation, food or money! The heat was stiffling, the pressure was on, I had not eaten since I left Murray, so I was hungry...Quality did have a shaded area and offered cold water and a portable potty.

I did not find a truck the first day, I had to leave the property...I was able to hitch a ride to a Walgreens where I waited for a friend to wire me money so I could eat,and get cab to a hotel....I returned via cab to Quality the following morning..I found a truck August 4...the A/C didnt work...the mechanic was busy and couldnt or wouldnt check it out until , of course, I had signed my contract...AS IS...I will say this, PTL did step up in my defense with Quality...the A/C was repaired a week later..

My actual earnings with PTL were ok, as far as enough revenue to pay truck payment,eskrow,insurance,fuel...HOWEVER, there was rarely anything left for me...My first paycheck was on August 24,2016...that check was 19.15...PTL plays with the money I earned. They keep 250.00 a week in maintenance/ eskrow account that I cannot touch until there is 3000 in that account...So where is the money that is being held by PTL...MY MONEY is building interest is thier account..NOT MINE...I have to take advances so I can eat...I get $25.00 a day...PTL charges me $2.00 for the advance, I get charged to cash the com check...Then if by chance I might get a check the next week...well NO...because I took advances...My statements are a joke..PTL lists all my loads and pay...but if I should get a check, they only pay a portion...then apply the remaining load pay to the next pay period...which calculates to a ZERO paycheck...
