On April 30th, 2005 my family was moving from Akron, Ohio to Gilbert Az. We had already contract Patriot Movers and given them a $500.00 deposit, which, with their quote, should have left us owing $1350.00 to complete the move.

However, a company by the name of Sasha Movers showed up and told us that in essence, they had nothing to do with the $500.00 deposit, that it was Patriot Movers's fee for finding us a mover, not the deposit Patriot Moving assured me it ws. I even have the Patriot Moving receipt identifying the $500.00 as a deposit, not a fee! Patriot Moving had told us that they were highly comptitive with other moving companies because they could move us at 40 cents per lb. Sasha Movers actually showed us that this was another lie by Patriot Moving because given the weight and price they quoted the rate was actually at 57 cents per lb. We were going to have to cough up another $900.00 to 1,000.00 for the move because Sasha Moving was charging us a flat $2250.00. The $500.00 didn't count toward anything. We tried to get Patriot Moving on the phone and but we were not permitted to speak with the representative we had dealt with up to this point. We were told very rashly and discourteously that there was nothing Patriot Moving could do, and that we could not get a refund on our $500.00. We were in a bind. We had to be out of our apartment by the following day, and we had to be in Gilbert, Az in 4 days (we were driving!).

Sasha Movers had pity on us and reduced their fee to a flat $2100.00, but we still had to scramble to get more money, and we maxed out our charge cards. Three days after after arriving in Arizona (we already had an apartment waiting) the truck arrived, but it was too big to negotiate the apartment grounds, which accomodates moving trucks day in and day out; so you know this truck had to be X tra big. We had to use our remaining money in order to rent a uhaul, transfer the furniture from the big moving truck to the uhaul, drive the uhaul around to our apartment and then transfer the furniture into the house. This, Sasha Movers told us, would usually cost us $300.00 more; however, because we had such a bad time with Patriot Moving and we didn't have anymore money, they only charged and additional $100.00.

My husband and I were left without a penny. We are both on fixed incomes so we would not get any other money until the first of May, which would be eaten up paying back the people we had to borrow money from. In the interim we had to go to a charity outreach organization and get food boxes every week in order to eat. And, we have still not recovered from the move.

I wanted to write a letter of complaint against the company but when I called for an address, I was told that they were located in North Miami Beach, Florida, and they will not give out their address. Any correspondence can go to a post office box address, P.O. Box 630850, Miami Fl 33163. What kind of legitimate company gives that response? These people are shady.

I want my money back! No US citizen should have to endure this kind of treatment. Any class action suits? Any attorney interested in filing suit against this company?

POSTED: Sunday, July 16, 2006

I am a victim of Patriot Moving/Pony Xpress. They have scammed me out of thousands and like Sasha stole a great deal from me. I have tried resolving my claim with the imfamous Ori Adkins only to find out he is never there no matter how much you call and then I curse out by whom ever picks up the phone. Seems to me that Sasha and Pony are on the track.

Aww, someone scammed the scammer...

AUTHOR: Sharon - (U.S.A.)

What, Ori, are you worried Sasha won't throw you any more victi- I mean customers if they think you wrote this letter? Don't worry, nobody will think you wrote that well-spoken and informative reply.

Shouldn't you be worrying more about your own reputation, keeping your license from being revoked again, and the 36 of 39 BBB complaints you amassed in one year? How much did you have to pay the BBB to let them allow you to become members in April? Must've been a hefty sum.

I do think it's funny that this is all it takes to make you worry.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sasha Transport, Inc. (Moving & Storage)

AUTHOR: Ori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 19, 2006

This company is owned and operated by the same Sasha Cincar who ran the AY transport offices out of the midwest region. It still uses the same tactics to lure you in to moving with them. Almost all of their workers are illegal workers who steal what they need from your belongings and later all you can do is claim 0.60 per lb by law.

This is unfair and should not be permitted to go on like this this way. As a former employee I would think it best to check to see if the owners are legal at all. Why do you have to put up with a illegal person stealing your money. Also lots of their jobs are paid in cash so they are erased from the books and not acounted for NO TAXES. They have so many people who dislike them that their storage was burnt up twice in the first year alone, I wouldn't trust them with your belongings for a second

B.

Sasha Transport has only been licensed since Feb 22 of this year, VERY new.

In addition to the usual complaints of BBB and the other moving scam websites, you should also click on this link. The FL Attorney General has started an official investigation into National Moving Network/Patriot Moving, and you should send them your story.

http://myfloridalegal.com/lit_ec.nsf/investigations/601962A26847383885256FAC00689388

You might also be interested to know that NMN/PM is part of an investigation into a moving company conglomerate that NMN/PM sent 80% of its business to. This investigation is being run byt he DOT, FBI, IRS, and probably a few more initials. Rest assured, they will not come out of it clean.

I think you should dispute some of the charges onyour credit card. Show the CC company your estimate from Patriot and then the final bill. At least get them to charge back the deposit that Patriot took, seeing as how you paid it twice.
