Penn Foster College Basically refused credit/graduation, Charged me for entire semester Scanton Pennsylvania

I took Penn Foster College class for Veterinary Technician. There is a requirement to visit the Forum at least twice a week, if I'm remembering correct. Also you had to get so many hours of the online class credit. I was still on Active Duty at the time, we went out on a surprise field mission. So I was not able to do the required classes for 2 weeks.

I however, and multiple other students, were never informed about these requirements. After a few postings, and heated postings, we were all told of it. So I was told that since I had missed two weeks of "class" and the forum, I could not complete the class.

I was only 4 or 5 classes into the course, and I'm told I can go no further. I called to complain and plead my case. I was told it was my fault that I was in the military and they would not accept my "excuses". Since being a soldier is a bad thing to them, I was screwed.

Then I received a letter stating I had to pay in full the whole semester. I called and told them I would pay if I was allowed to continue the course. Again I was told no. They said if I paid them over $1300 I could re-enroll in the course and pay over $1300 again. Really? Wow what a deal!!!

Not to mention that weeks prior , Penn Foster was on the brink of losing their Temp status of accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Assn. With that any student completing the class could not actually become a Vet Tech. Penn Foster would no allow me to withdraw from the class because of that.

So now I have collection agencies calling me non-stop, letters, all kinds of crap coming from them. I got a letter from a "lawyer" stating I was going to be sued. Well this Lawyer, and the firm, do not exist. The phone number is Penn Foster's number, The email is not valid, and no one has this lawyer listed as being a real person.

So all in all, do not waste your time on this place. Why pay $1300-$1500 per semester for a college degree that no one will accept. No one will take your credit for courses. Go to a community college for in my state, $1300 for a degree, not a semester.

And to those of you that will read this, do not try to come at me with personal stabs about how " you just can't take the pressure of learning", "it's not Penn Foster's fault you aren't dedicated to the class", and "this is a great school, and you are just mad cause you failed the class"

If you or your brother's, cousin's, uncle's, sister graduated here and got a job with their degree, I don't care. I do know that 1. Most of the US Govt will not accept it, the company I work for will not accept it, and my personally owned company will not accept it.
