I have a fully qualified rebate for $10 from Pennzoil. I have photocopy documentation of all items sent.
The customer service rep for the rebate division told me the "submission was incomplete". When I said I had full photocopy evidence that all items were submitted correctly (even a photocopy of the 12 individual rings ridiculously required), and asked where to fax this proof, she told me it wasn't possible.
I asked to be transferred to her manager; I left a message on the answering service & received a call back a few days later from Jessica. This time I was told that I was not found in the system and that there was nothing she could do, since I obviously didn't send in this rebate.
Rebate says in case of problems, to retain photocopy proof of your submission. This was done just in case it was "lost"... and it sounds like this fits the /in case of problems/ part! Its a shame that of all the rebates I've filed recently, that the largest company is the one trying to (blatantly) cheat me.

Why bother with rebates?

Mailing in for rebates seems like a lot of effort that might be better applied to finding a better non-rebate deal on a better product. Unless, of course, you ENJOY Mailing in for rebates.
I have not usen Pennzoil products since the 1970's. I switched to the "competitor-1" synthetic sold by a well-known Pennzoil competitor in 1981 and never went back. [ I change it every 7500 miles and that makes the synthetic less expensive.]
So, yea, maybe they ripped you. I just don't bother.
