Peoples Credit First ripoff I recieved a green print mailer on Oct. 1 2002 that said I was pre-approved for a $5000.00 credit limit at 0.00% intrest

On Oct. 1, 2002 I recieved a mailer that I was pre-approved for a $5000.00 credit card at 0.00% intrest rate. All I had to do was send in a "one time fee" of $49.00 and my card was on the way.

I found it a little odd that they didn't ask me for my social security number, but as I just applied to "PeopleFirst" for a re-fiance on my vehicle, well I just figured PeoplesCreditFirst was a subsidiary.

Well here it is almost a month later and nothing came. I was a little curious and started to check out some things.

What I found was a dummy web site, and no 800 number listings. I had gotten in touch with my bank and it turns out that these crooks wasted no time in cashing my check which posted to my account Oct. 9 2002.

I obtained a copy of my check (front and back) and it had gone through Bank of America.I don't know if this helps anyone, but the account numbers are, 8340608613, 400164962 9984 9984 07,
2224297035.

My next step now is BBB.
