Calling someone else a scam artist. So, are you a mechanic and employee of SGS Automotive, or are you the poor hapless victim of Pep Boys that you claim in Ripoff Reports #453183 and #455662? Who's the real scammer here?

Hmm your rebuttal says that you too have probably scammed someone. It is people like you that give the REAL mechanic in this country a bad name.. So how much did your store pay you to say this... Hope you feel the same way when they let you go. And besides why would this customer go to a different Pep Boys to get a opinion when that customer is on your data base. Boy I hope you are a good mechanic like you are a SCAM ARTIST. and oh by the way BURNT it is burned..

#2 UPDATE Employee

Make it a point to educate yourself...ask questions

AUTHOR: Carguy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 10, 2009

When you bring your car into a shop complaining of a problem that is where the technican is going to look. In your case you had brake fluid leaking from the rear wheels. The front wheels will not be looked at unless specified. The front brake pads were most likely checked as a courtesy. It is possible to check the thickness of the brake pads by looking through the wheel either from the front or behind just to observe pad thinkness, so your front rotors could have been bad from the start.

A helpfull hint when getting any major repair done to your vehicle is ask questions! Ask the mannager to show you the repairs being done and save the old parts so that you can examine them. Educate yourself so that you are not taken advantage of. At the service counters there are diagrams to help you understand the system of the car you are getting repaird. If you read them you would know that your brake ROTORS were bad not your RODDERS and you had faulty brake CALIPERS not CALLIBURS. Also you either have calipers or wheel cylinders...not both.

Yes there are people in this world that will try to get over on you, but saying that an entire company is untrustworthy becasue of one bad experince is a little unfair. If you are unsatisfied with your service take your vehicle to a different Pep Boys to get a second oppinion. If you went to McDonnalds and got a burnt hamburger would you say that every McDonnalds was bad becasue of one bad experience?

Typical Pepboys.

A car may be sold as-is, but still must pass state inspection. I would also take this up with the company your bought the car from. Find out what happened exactly. Not saying it will get you anywhere, but it's worth a phone call.

In addition, call 1-800-PEPBOYS and file an official complaint. I'm not sure, but I think the regional managers name is Victor or Ken (they go through managers so fast it isn't funny, and PA is kinda a split area).

Next time you have brake work done, ask for all the old parts back so that you can have them scrutinized. That will keep the shop alot more honest.

Stick to your guns KC.
