Perma Plate Looks for excuses not to honor warranty Salt Lake City Utah

BUYER BEWARE - Think Twice before you purchase - I purchased this policy for the paint on my 2010 Escape as I knew I intended to keep my vehicle for at least 10 yrs.  This past June, while my husband was washing my vehicle, he noticed a brown spot over the passenger wheel well. 

I made a claim which was denied as they said I didn't have a policy.  I went back to my Dealer to get copies of what they submitted, to prove I did have a policy.  They then denied it because they have an exclusion on rust and determined the brown spot was just that. I tried to argue that it hadn't actually rusted, it was just discolored AND without it being tended to, it probably will turn to rust. 

After tracking down the regional PermaPlate manager and discussing this, he lead me to believe that a good faith coverage would happen.  He put me in touch with a Empire Quality Service to handle the particulars.  If you ever have to work/deal with this company ONLY speak to Martin Mulvey the Owner as Laura is awful to work with. 

In any case, after 4 months of calling and inquiries, PermaPlate has completely denied my claim.  AND now what was a small brown about the size of a broken pencil tip, but the surface was smooth is almost the size of a quarter and bubbling.  

They say they cover oxidation, surface rust, etc BUT they look for ways to get out of having to actually provide coverage. - in my case, they are saying it is a seam issue and not their product.
