I purchased a Range Rover from Philadelphia Autohaus on 8/13/09. The truck had 52,000 miles on it. I purchased the truck because I was told that eight-five percent of Range Rovers ever built are still running on the road today.  I was also told the truck worked great and would last me a long time.  I believed this and thought I had a great trucK. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

6,000 miles later the transmision goes. I called thinking that Philadelphia Autohaus will do something to help me out since I only put 6,000 miles on the truck.  I was told there is nothing they can do to help since there was no warranty on a used car. Also that it is common for Range Rovers to have transmission problems when mileage reaches around 50,000 miles.  Why wasn't I told that when I purchased the truck! Instead I'm told the truck will last a long time.

I was told by a Range Rover dealership that having to have a new transmission on a Range Rover with 58,000 mile IS NOT common. Cost to replace transmission.  4900.00!

I thought I was getting a good and fair deal. I sure got something a good something!

Did you take the RRover to a mechanic prior to purchasing it for a complete review ?

6,000 miles is likely 6 months that you drove it. I can see maybe a 30 day return policy but a 6 month return policy ?

I don't even think the dealers 30 point inspection would have picked up something so far in advance.

I hope you learned BUYER BEWARE. Don't EVER believe what the dealership says , ever , never , EVER. Get it checked out yourself first before buying.
