On Feb. 1, 2012 I purchased a 2004 Lincoln Navagator (Tan) at that time I gave  Philadelphia Autohaus $2,500.00 downpayment, still oweing 500.00 making it a total of 3,000.00 downpayment.  When I purchased the vehicle the mileage was 105,000.  Once the deal was completed I went home and received a call that my mother was sick and I needed to come home.  Home is Hampton, Va. which is 319.62 miles from at that time my address (8E Swedesford Road #103 Malvern, Pa.) and give and take miles driven around town about 200.  So at the most and giving it the benefit of the doubt total miles driven on vehicle about 500/600  miles no more than that. After a week of being in Va. I received a call from the finance company who was going to finance the vehicle who stated at that time thatall info had been verified and a welcome package was being sent to me and when to make my first payment.

A couple days later I started receiving phones calls from Maria a worker from Autoahus and who finialized my paperwork, stating that I need to bring the truck back because of a sensor problem.  Then the owners David and Lucille started calling my stating that if I don't get this sensor fixed that the truck will blow up.  So I asked why didn't anybody mention this to me when I purchased the truck.  Lucille stated she don't know and that I need to bring the truck back they just had a Navagator blow up because of the same problem.  Well I knew soemthing was not right about this because I was not having any problems with this truck.  So I thought they just wanted me to pay the reamining balance of the downpmt. ($500.00) so I called Lucille on 2/13/2012 and paid 250.00 from my debit card paying half of the remaining downpayment of 500.00 and the payment went through.  So a couple days went by and I was still getting a lot of phone calls from Maria, Lucille and David, telling me I need to bring this truck in and wanted to know where I was.  I told them that I was out of town my mother was sick and while I was there my aunt died.  Well this went on for a couple of more weeks, them trying to find out where I was.  I finally believed what Maria told me because I trusted her and told her my address.  I then spoke with David the owner the following day who told me that he would have to pay soemone to pick the truck up and he would call me the following day to let me know the amount before coming to get it because I depending on the refund of the 2750 that I paid them to get another car. Well he never called, they secretly came and got the truck like they was reprosseing it and only refunded 850.00 of my 2750.00  -

These people continueingly lied to me over and over again just to get this truck.  All of this could of been avoided if they were truthful in the beginning.  I could of returned the truck while I was on leave when they was calling talking about a sensor needed to be replaced.  These people charged me 1,900.00 for the usesage of the truck from Feb. 1,  2012 to Feb. 26, 2012 (when they picked the truck up).  I have asked Maria, Lucille over and over again to please send me a receipt of the itemized charges of what they took my 1,900.00 for.  Maria stated she has faxed it over and over again but once again she lies.  I asked both (maria and Lucille) to send my CD's that was in the cd player in truck she said she sent them and again they lied never sent them.  If David had not lied about calling me the day before coming to get the truck I would have gave them their keys and gotten my Cd's from the truck.

On March 3rd, 2012 I called Autohaus again to request a copy of itemized receipt and the office manager (who I and telling me have met) but forgot his name (an Indian guy) was very rude to me and hollering at me and telling me I am not going to get a receipt, what do I need a receipt for.  I stated don't I deserve a receipt of where my money went?  He said no.  I said I wanted a copy of the towing bill that the tow company charged them to pick up the truck.  He said there was no towing company he picked up the truck.  He also stated I put 2000 miles on the truck which was a lie.  These people just straight took my money and I am truely hurt by this.  I trusted these people.  How was I to know hat the finance company was going to send back the contract.  These people knew that I was out of town and they had the advantage o ripping me off.  I worked hard for that  money and saved up to purchase a car and Maria knows this and they just ripped me off so bad with no remorse.  At the most I knew maybe 500.00 for the month Feb. usage of the truck including miles.  and maybe 500.00 for picking truck up but not 1900.00.  That was a total ripoff.

I am asking for your help.  !st I want a receipt for all charges and I want a refund of at least

they at least owe me that.  1900.00 is just way to much of a charge.  I think they was really trying to take all of my money and I beleive they would of if I didn't start complaining.  So please help me to try to get some of my money back this is not fair how these people treated me.

Thank YouTamma R R

I never understand...

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 29, 2012

Why people feel that they need to embellish their reports.  I mean really it is not like any one on these public web sites know, or even care who they are.

Now, you gave this dealer a down payment of $2500 and made an agreement to give them an additional $500 to make it a grand total of $3,000.

So I thought they just wanted me to pay the reamining balance of the downpmt. ($500.00)

- Gee you THINK?

so I called Lucille on 2/13/2012 and paid 250.00 from my debit card paying half of the remaining downpayment of 500.00 and the payment went through. So a couple days went by and I was still getting a lot of phone calls from Maria, Lucille and David, telling me I need to bring this truck in and wanted to know where I was.
- Umm..I wonder why you would still be getting calls.  Oh yea you owed them the remaining $250.

When I purchased the vehicle the mileage was 105,000.
- Interesting how you knew the mileage on the car, and knew exactly how far it was to your mom's home(down to the tenth's of a mile).  Yet you could only estimate that you put 500/600 miles on the car.

Well he never called, they secretly came and got the truck like they was reprosseing it and only refunded 850.00 of my 2750.00  -
-  Now we get to the heart of your "RipOff".  Baring what ever else you wrote it will basically come down to this.  What does the agreement you signed state about the Deposit in the case of the Financing not going through?  Generally in these cases there will be something about a daily charge, mileage, and possibly even "recovery" fees.   If they are keeping more than is allowed in the agreement then you have a valid complaint and probably should take them to small claims court.  If they are taking what was specified then you have no case and need to move on.

Oh and by the way I don't think anyone really "buys" your story about getting a bigger and better car with no down-payment.

Why lie?

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 29, 2012

The OP obviously is lying at this point. A new car with no down payment, given her terrible credit? I think not.

In any event, hopefully she really is happy, and starts paying her bills on time.

And The Question Is....

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Ask God to explain to you or use someone to explain to you what the term "upside down" means and how having no down payment increases that amount substantially and is, in reality, NOT a good deal at all! Yes, God is indeed good but as His representative on earth He would NOT want you going around not paying your obligations which according to your word, you would pay.

The oldest stories in the world

AUTHOR: voiceofreason - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 26, 2012

The oldest stories in the world are probably the excuses folks make when they owe money and try to delay payment. Sick mothers, dead aunts, yada yada yada.

Read your own story through the eyes of a creditor and tell us you too would roll your eyes and go, "Yeah, right."

I have to say, both you and the dealer go very well together and you should beat them to the punch by trying to sell this story to Hollywood. "The truck's gonna blow up!" Hahahahahahahaha...

The missing link in all this back and forth is the date by which you had to pay the rest of the down payment. You left that critical piece of data out, and we naturally suspect that you exceeded that date, and they did what they felt they had to do to get the truck back.

When you don't even have enough on hand to complete a down payment, why are you buying a rich man's trophy vehicle like a Navigator? I don't care how old it is.

Just how did you expect to meet the monthly payments? I'll bet they came down with the same fears and figured you were skipping town with the truck.

I'm a little unclear on the agreement here...

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, March 24, 2012

When did you promise to pay them the extra $500, and how long after that date did they start calling you about the "sensor problem" (I love the bit about the car blowing up, by the way).

No matter what, the car company does seem pretty sleazy, as they were committing fraud by telling the finance company you had already paid $3000 down.

THEY Were The Liars?

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, March 24, 2012

You couldn't even afford the down payment! You failed live up to your word and make the down payment installment on time (without regard to the reason). They did a repo...end of story.
