My family leased a home at 668 N. Creekside Drive in Prescott AZ from January, 2008 to March, 2009. Several weeks prior to move out, I contacted the leasing agent, Jamie and left her four message requesting that I be present during the final inspection of the home after we moved out. This is my right to request under Arizona Tenant law. She never called me back and to this day has not contacted me. I also called her about a month before we moved out to discuss having Merry Maids clean the home prior to our move out and asked her when she would be by to inspect. My intent was to have her come by the home and have her inspect while Merry Maids were still there so that they could address any clenliness issues while on site. At that time, Jamie told me that she prefers to conduct the walk throughs "alone" and would let me know if anything needed to be addressed.

Needless to say, we has not heard anything from Pierce except the lengthy itemized list of "repair" issues and charges along with some of our deposit being returned. One of the major problems I've had with this entire move out situation is that they charged us $500 for the cost to repaint the home after we moved out. On our last day there, we spackled and painted all holes etc. using the paint that was left in the home by the owners. So, they were the exact same color.

Once we had moved out, the home owners contacted us to find out how our move went etc. We explained the charges from Pierce and they started asking questions. Turns out that Pierce charged US to have the home repainted because the paint on the walls was faded. Well, the home wasn't freshly painted when we moved in, so how could the tentant's be responsible for this? The homeowners have tried to contact Pierce repeatedly regarding this and other charges that Pierce is now charging THEM to no avail. Unfortunately, Diane doesn't seem interested in discussing her company's unethical business practices with clients/tenants and I feel that I am forced to file this complaint.

During the year that we lived in this home, my husband and I took care of most maintenance issues ourselves, we cleared trash out from under the deck that was there when we moved in. we cleaned the home prior to moving in because the previous tenant and Pierce neglected to clean it. We replaced airfilters and smoke detectors. We also fixed the irrigation system in the front/back yards and steam cleaned the carpets monthly because the entire downstairs smelled like dog pee. We never had a complaint or late rent issue and we only had one service issue when the dishwasher broke. I find it irreprehensible that they have mismanaged this situation to this extent and continue to avoid accountability.

Thank you!
