On 4/14/04 My husband and I went to Pikes Peak Acura looking for a used car. The salesperson was very "helpful" and showed us a few cars. We saw a car that we liked, we test drove it, and decided to see if they would offer us a good deal on the car. On the window the cars they have an information sheet describing each car. On that sheet it states that Pikes Peak Acura will not price cars above kelley blue book value... not true. My husband and I haggled with the dealer over the price of the car and decided to buy it. We thought we were getting a good deal.
The next day we looked up the blue book value for our new car and found out that we had purchased the car for considerably more than what the blue value was. I also decided to take a look at the Pikes Peak Acura website. On the website I found a listing for the car we had just purchased. They had the car listed at $3000 less than the sticker price that we had haggled over the night before.
Needless to say I was furious. I immediately called the dealer and asked him why we werent told about the sale price. He told me that he gave me an over allowance for my trade-in and that we actually paid less than the sale price. I told him that I thought he was wrong and that they should have taken my trade-in off the sale price. Well, that was it, the dealer told me that I could come in that night and he would show me the figures.
I then contacted the Better Business Bureau, they told me that I needed to try to resolve it with the dealer and gave me the name of the complaint manager. I ended up calling another manager in the office to see if he would help me first.
I literaly argued on the phone with this man for 20 min. He told me that they didn't have to tell me about the internet price because that was part of their advertising, that I needed to mention the internet price when I purchased the vehicle. He was very rude and didn't seem to want to help me at all. He kept telling me that if I didn't like the price that I could take my trade-in back and pay sale price for the car. (Which was still more than we paid)I ended up telling him that I had already contacted the BBB and that I would be filing a complaint with them. At that time he put me on hold for 10 minutes. When he came back on the line, he offered to give me $500 back. I agreed and he told me to come back later and see the finance manager.
My husband and I ended up getting $500 back. All in all our experiance with Pikes Peak Acura was horrible. I would never buy another car from them and I would discourage anyone else from buying from them.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Must've been the salesman

I know that this report is about five years old but its always good to look for flaws that the company is making. Whoever was the salesman at the time should've taken the time to do some research. If you stated that it will never go over the blue book value, he or she should at least double check it. I work at the one that is addressed above which is the Truck Stop lot. The lot itself is probably under new management and of course, I was already informed yesterday that there has been too many jackasses working on that lot who has caused such a ruckus with other customers in the past. So our main goal is to change that entire image and our way to working with people, the RIGHT WAY.

Advertisers above have met our
strict standards for business conduct.
