Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know about Planet Fitness of DeLand, Florida and warn people not to make the same mistake I did in joining.  4 years ago, the owner of the gym was based in this gym so the gym was very nice and clean always because they had a staff who was willing to work because the owner was there.  The owner has since gone to another of his gyms so this Planet Fitness is now a complete dump, so dirty and disgusting.  The manager has zero idea how to actually manage people as she just took the promotion for the money and is completely unqualified to manage people.  The workers there (except for the early morning worker) are all so completely lazy and just text on their little phones all day and night, instead of cleaning the dirty place.  The manager is too much of a gutless coward to make these lazy people do their jobs and, heaven forbid, actually do some work.  You walk into the gym and there is a disgusting dirty smell like a bad locker room.  I have been told too that the tanning beds are always dirty there too.  Although it is forbidden in the member contract, members are allowed to use their cell phones in the locker rooms and they have creepers there pretending to text, but are actually using their phones to take pictures of naked dudes.  I witnessed this first hand and notified the staff so they could simply put a "no cellphones allowed in locker rooms" sign by the locker room entrance (not accuse the creeper because that is a slippery slope since it would be a criminal act).  But they could have cared less.  I notified corporate about this and they were appalled that the manager here allowed this crap to happen and that it was in clear violation of Planet Fitness corporate rules.  This gym also had 2 broken men's toilets (understand the women's toilets were broken too) and were never fixed.  It would have taken 15 minutes to go to Lowes to get the parts to easily fix it.  All this comes back to the horrible manager they have there.  She is an older lady who probably feels she is unfirable because of her age.  I know so many people who quit going there because of how bad that place has become.  If the owner is reading this, you need to fire everyone there, except the early morning worker.  Final thing too, they advertise $10 a month.  But everyone has to pay a $40 maintenance fee in October and you have to sign a year contract.  You pay $5 more a month to not be locked into a contract.  Final thing, DO NOT JOIN PLANET FITNESS IN DELAND, FLORIDA-IT IS HORRIBLE AND THE WORST, MOST DISGUSTING GYM EVER!!
