Last June 2003 I lease a Honda Accord from Planet Honda. I also purchased 3 waranties and their amount was added in my monthly payments. The dealership was about to close. It was like around 9:30. I signed the papers and left with the car. I told my brother in law about the waranties and he told me to cancell them they are not worth it.
The very same night around 9:45 I called Planet Honda and spoke to Finance manager Angel Martinez and told him i wanted to cancell the warrnaties. he said fine no problem come in tomorrow. I went their the next day and he told me they are non cancellable all 3 of them. i showed him the policies of the warranty which stated they are cancellable and told me to contact the warrnaty company directly and he could refund me only $369.00 out of $2468.88.
However, I called the waranty company gave them the information and they said the dealership haven't submitted the paperwork yet and also said they are cancellable but through the dealership. I went back to Angel told him the situation and he said ok he will refund me the amount. The Next day i got a call from him and stated he spoke to the waranty company and said they are non-cancellable (i was furious). I went back there and he called the warranty company on speaker phone in front of me and spoke to the same gentleman i did and of course he lied that he never told me the warranty is not cancellable. The Second warranty which covered up to $2500.00 for dents on the car at the end of lease was cancellable.
In the beginning I was told that warranty was worth $1200.00 but now since the Planet Honda had to do a refund the price changed from $1200.00 to $499.00. I told Angel about this and he said "do I have that in Writting" I was just furious and tired of them. I Just decided to take that amount and never do business with them. He Told me i would get a check in the mail.
Three Months passed and no check. I called Angel and he said I have to call Bruce Wincler at their dealership because the dealership on rt3 has benn bought by someone else. I called bruce Winler left him several messages and no answer, went down their a dozen times and he was never theere. I made copies of the policy and left with the receptionist and was advised a few days later that he is working on it.
2 more months and still no answer. It has been a full year now and I haven't received any thing.
First thy changed their statements and they worked somthing out with the warranty company to tell me that they are non-cancellable. Then they changed the amount of each warranty and in the end they never responded to me.
I am so frustrated with these people. They dont care and have no sense of customer service skills.
If somebody can help me with this please let me know.
