Sorry that I didn't check the web when I paid for the magazines. Nice salesperson but a bit too glib. He was sweating profusely as it was a hot day. I offered him water and bought a couple of mags. Paid for the mags with a check. At first he tried to hit me with a $106 bill- really was pressing the whole "I'm earning my way off the streets" pitch. I spent $58.

Didn't feel comfortable about the exchange and completed the "Notice of Cancellation" form within the 3 day period and faxed it to the number on the slip. Even called to notify them.

They quickly cashed my check and have ignored calls and additional faxes. They are supposed to refund within "10 business days" and that was two months ago. The NEVER answer their phone.

I called the Orange police department and business license department. They say the address is a PO BOX like a "Mailboxes Etc". I called the Orange Better Business Bureau and they had a number of complaints about Platinum Sales.

I figure the money is gone, my mistake for trusting this organization. I have read some of the other posts and have surmised that this organization is a scam through and through. Any "business" that never responds to customer inquiries is a joke. BEWARE!!

Platinum Sales, Orange CA UPDATE

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 10, 2008

July 2008. I attempted one last contact to the sales office in Orange. I faxed a letter simply stating that unless I heard from them in 48 hours, I would file a report with the Fraud divisions of the City of Orange police department, City of Newport Beach police department, City of Orange City Attorney's office, BBB of Orange and ripoffreport.com. Well, wouldn't you know it: After two months of silence I got a call back that next day with apologies and a promise to send a refund check. Hilarious. I received the check the other day and deposited it (even tho they got my first name wrong- another stall tactic??).

The sad effect of this experience is that I will NEVER patronize any door-to-door salesmen. EVER. And I happen to think that door-to-door sales is one of the toughest and "gutsey-est" jobs out there.
