I ordered a toy on 1/9/09 and my account was charged on 1/12/09. I tried contacting them on 1/19/09 when I realized my ordered was still listed as "processing" and they claim to ship within 4 to 7 business days. Their phone number is disconnected and their email is undeliverable even though I got an email on the 9th stating they received my order. I had to call my bank and go through a ridiculous process to get my money back and still have to fill out a bunch of paperwork over $22!!

This company is still advertising toys as "in stock" and when I Google them, it actually shows their advertised deals. I am appalled that they are taking money from people even though they are clearly out of business. I wish I had seen these other complaints before ordered because it would have saved me a lot of trouble. It's the principle of the issue that is really bothering me. I hope no one else gives them their money because this is clearly a scam!!!

I am the owner of Playful Plush Toys and due to a series of major incidents, (family health, divorce, and declining economic conditions), I have closed the company.  We have been closed for a very long time and I just happened upon this site today and saw this.  I hope that you have successfully received a full refund for this purchase you are referring to from last year.  Please let me know if you have not and I will make it right.  As you know, the site and phone numbers are all gone obviously but you can email me at plushsales@aol.com and I will get back to you promptly.  FYI- In the process of closing our doors, one of our main processing PCs was inadvertently reformatted before getting backed up and subsequently we lost some order data which much have been the time frame you ordered....Again, I'm terribly sorry that this occurred and as a father to two little ones myself I in no way intended on shorting anyone out of their end of the deal when dealing with the company I created several years ago.

There are too many of these companies preying on kids.
The US doesn't care. I've discovered the Toy industry organizations over the manufacurers don't mind what's going on beneth them in manufacturing and at the retail level.
So the crooks continue to feed.

There is no reason the US can't almost halt the bad business being conducted on the internet. It's a real problem and minefield for consumers.
