This company's service, for an annual fee, is to track outgoing emails -- that is, to confirm whether the email has been opened. It does track some. I can live with its many false negatives and even false positives. What I can't live with is its *preventing* mail from reaching the mail's intended recipients.
Allow me to explain. For Pointofmail to track a message, the message must first be directed to Pointofmail's server, after which the message is sent on. I used Pointofmail's services for my important business mail, which I naturally assumed Pointofmail was sending to the respective recipients. Had I the least suspicion otherwise, I certainly would not have used Pointofmail, but would have sent the mail conventionally, directly to the recipients.
After about 11 months of using Pointofmail, I discovered, by consulting the "Outbox" page on its site, that at least two -- and who knows how many more -- emails were never sent on to the intended recipients. (Ordinarily there is no reason to consult Pointofmail's site, as the confirmations are sent to me via email.)
In correspondence, Pointofmail admitted the above and offered me "compensation." It later turned out however that Pointofmail's "compensation" was to be an upgrade of my Pointofmail subscription, which is manifestly useless to me, as it would be foolhardy in the extreme for me ever again to trust my mail to Pointofmail -- especially the important mail for which I might desire tracking. Pointofmail could not explain either of the two lapses cited. The damage to my business due to the withholding of mail from the intended recipients is incalculable.
Knowing the truth I can't imagine anyone would want to use Pointofmail's services, even if they were free.

Something isnt adding up....

I once had an email not sent to its recipient and it turned out i typed the wrong email address. I have nothing to do with pointofmail.com and hate that you must buy an email subscription that expires. They should allow you to keep the subscription as long as you have emails available, regardless of time.
But i digress...
What doesnt make sense is that the last complaint was using pointofmail so he could responsibly track the emails sent to important customers and make sure they were received. 11 months later, for some reason he was on the "outbox" page and noticed 2 important emails were never sent...and who know how many more. Well, since you saw the 2 on the outbox page, id assume you would have seen all the other emails not sent. To infer that you had emails not sent AND not listed seems like a stretch. Even for the most foolhardy of people. Furthermore, As he stated, he normally would receive tracking notifications sent to him which he used to confirm and/or track his urgent emails so would have no reason to check the outbox page.
But whats the point of the email tracking confirmations if you dont bother to even realize you never received the confirmation that the emails were or were not sent...for 11 months....
Then after 11 months of a 12 month subscription...you noticed 2 emails werent sent 11 months earlier and you expected what? a refund of your whole subscription fees? Sort of like eating a whole pizza and leaving the crust of the last piece and expecting a full refund because you asked for extra cheeze and didnt get it? Sounds more to me like pointofmail.com wasnt admitting fault as much as they were just trying to make a foolhardy customer happy. How important could that email have been if the only reason you found out it wasnt sent was by accident by stumbling upon the outbox page...11 months later. No harm no foul. If only pointofmail.com had an advance feature which allowed you to receive email tracking notifications for the email tracking notification of the original email.
