Portfolio Recovery has been ripping me off for years they bought an old debt of mine offered me a settlement and payment plan that I paid for years and never put a dent in what they said and claim I still owe. PRA can not garnish your husbands wages without getting a judgement first.

Show up in court even if you do not have any money to pay. Tell the Judge your side of the story, and most judges when they see you have little or no money will either drop the judgement or lower the garnishment. I have seen people walk out of court paying only 1% of what they owend or the judge put a 1% garnishment on thier wages - it's better then a default judgement!
