Post University They have a rule that students must undergo two field practicums but they don't have any for the students to take nor do they help in finding these. I have around $76,000.00 in school debt which is useless since I cannot get a diploma. The teachers are suddenly giving me absurdly low grades. I cannot have that since I will have to transfer to get the practicum. I was promised at the start of my degree at Post that I wouldn't have to travel to get my practums. Waterbury Connecticut

I very excited once about getting a diploma and a license to counsel people having problems with drug and alcohol abuse. This school didn't have a handbook on he courses I would need, only a list on a single sheet of paper. I was told by my first advisor that I had to take those classes in he order listed on the paper. The last part of the chedule showed me having to take two field practicums. It didn't say that I would be responsible for finding places to take these practicums. I started with my education and did real well up until the practicums came about. There are no field practicums to be had here in Myrtle Beach since there are several schools who have all of the practicums sewed up. When I complained to Post about it they said it was up to me and that I should keep taking classes since my student loans would start wanting their money. I signed up for a couple of classes and recieved grades so low that I had to laugh. Last week I actually recieved a grade of 10 out of a possible 100. The teacher, Dr. Matzke, said that my grade was so low due to my wanting my clients to be friends. Now I'm trying to drop that class. I had a class before where the teacher gave a paper I had written a 55. I have had a 95 average in my papers since I was in undergrad. I do not knowwhat is going on but I do believe that these silly grades are personal attacks at me. I could have signed my name on an online piece of paper and turned it and recieved a grade about as high as a 55. I am a disabled veteran which might why I am being attacked since this school has very liberal values.
I do not want any other veteran to get into a jam like this one which is why I am taking the time to write. I hope other students do not have this treatment either, but this school claims it works well with veterans. They did give me my books for free since I am a veteran, but we only used one book through out the whole substance abuse major. I am asking veterans to look very close at the fine print and demand that they only have one advisor through out their degree. I have had four in the last three years. Oh...and his was supposed to be a one year program!
