Sorry, I reread your report this morning and saw that I did in fact misread it. I take it that you went some place like Lowes or Home Depo. The only problem with doing this yourself is that the springs are what makes hanging garage doors dangerous, most people can't replace them on their own. I'm glad you were able, that actually saved you a good $150 per spring.

What you need to know is, Precision did come out. That's the problem. Unless you followed their every move when they looked at your door, it was TAMPERED with. These tampers will be small. You or another company needs to THOUROUGHLY go over the door, check for things like small pieces broken off for no appearent reason, missing bolts or screws, missing rollers, etc. If they did have a chance to tamper with it, make sure you get a picture of any little odd thing you notice. File a complaint with your Attorney General and tell them whatever you found. And be careful using the door until you've seen that everything is still perfect. These things will appear small, but will cause the probelms of the door falling, coming off track, and various problems with the cables, drums, etc. The springs probally didn't even need replaced until the came out, that is the first item they would have tampered with. The sticking of your door, because of where you live, was probally due to the weather. It originally probally only needed lubed (sprayed) and adjustments made.

Please make sure you check your door over. If you signed a form of any kind with Precision, they will claim they never touched the door and that any danger that happens is a result of you not paying for whatever they wanted to get you for. This is their biggest and most used scam. They try to scare you by making you believe there is a danger, the only danger there is is them tampering with people's doors. Good Luck!

I worked for this company in Maryland, til I found out what was really going on there. I too placed a report. But for anyone reading this one should note this this IS the same company in ALL of the following Ripoffreports: 26223, 25845, 22965, 20433, 4362, 22671, 13773, 4320. Most of which have resently come forward as yourself have.

I am in the mist of fighting tooth and nail to rid them nationally. State by state, day by day, etc. At this point I also am being to feel that not only is the BBB & CBBB taking their money to hide their scam to the consumers, but in some way the phone companies have to be involved. That I am now checking into. Hopefully in due time, By more and more people coming forward and complaining, maybe the governmemnt will take people more seriously.

I do have one thing to ask you that I can't seem to understand. Maybe I read your report wrong. But, the other company that came out, what exactly did they do? They could have only serviced your door, there's no way they could have changed your spring for $18. If they told you they did, their lieing. More then likely, they sprayed the springs, brackets, cables, and drums. Hopefully, you didn't call one of their alliases. If that's the case, they sprayed your door so that it would work for a short peroid of time, and if it is one of their alliases, they tampered with the door and it will need big repairs within weeks. Who was the other company? If you check out my report on Precision, you'll see an extended list of their other names they also go by, I just hope it wasn't one of them.
