I was prescribed Enbrel Prefilled Syringes for Rheumatoid Arthritis in October 2008. I called Precision RX, where I was told to have this filled. The cost would be approx. $1500 per month. Of course, I could not afford that, so thank goodness they put me on the Quick Assist Program. So thru Precision RX, courtesy of the Quick Assist Program, I was able to pay only $75 per month for the Enbrel.

I got the Enbrel for 2 months and it started working wonders. When I called for my 3rd month refill, they told me that I had already used almost $3000 of my $3600 total amount of benefits from Quick Assist so that if I wanted another dose of Enbrel it would cost me about $700 (my remaining balance after the benefits). I was very shocked to hear this, as this is NOT AT ALL how they explained things to me.

I admit now, I did not understand what they were talking about when they threw out the $3600 amount in the beginning. All I knew was that I could get it for $75/mo. If I would have known up front that all I could get was 2 months of medicine at $75 each and then have to pay full price, I never EVER would've started the meds in the 1st place.

At that time in December I was forced to go off the medicine of course. I tried to find more funding but was unsuccessful and I have terrible insurance that doesn't cover anything. Anyway, mid January Precision RX actually contacted me and the woman on the other line said that whoever told me I couldn't get it for $75/mo. was wrong and that she would be glad to send it to me for $75.

I was elated and gave them my credit card to pay that amount, rec'd the medicine and got along great. When I called last week for another refill I was told that it would cost me almost $1500 and that the last person didn't know what SHE was talking about. Go figure. I talked to sooooooo many different people from that place and none of them know what the other is doing or saying. They all told me different things. They were all confused.

Heck, yesterday I got a call from a nurse from there all cheery asking me how my meds were working after being on them for 4 months. OBVIOUSLY she didn't look at my account! Anyway, now I am left with a bill of $717.33 ... the remaining balance after my benefits that they are forcing me to pay, even though I approved a $75 charge and was told (it is in writing on my account) that I could get it for $75.

One lady at RX told me that $75 was just an estimate. I am positive I had NEVER heard those words before. Like I said, NO ONE really knows what is going at Precision RX ... not me OR the people that work there. So here I am, unable to pay the $717.33 and will be sent to collections for it. What a great place America is!! I don't know what other options there are, but look elsewhere!!!
