I got my Sprint bill this month and there was a charge for $9.99 for Predicto Moble. Since I had never heard of this company, and had no idea how I got subcribed (much less WHAT I was pay for) I looked for info on line and found TONS of scam reports on these people. I called 800-360-0518 to unsubscribe. The customer service person did unsubscribe me, and assured me she had blocked my number from their system. I asked how I got subscribed and she said I had gone to the predicto.com website, entered my phone number, received a PIN by text message, and then entered this PIN on the website's confirmation page. She said all this occurred April 22, 2010.
I just searched my text messages, and did find a text from Predicto with a PIN, saying I had been subscribed, and to text "STOP" to unsubscribe. I never entered this PIN anywhere online (and the text clearly stated I had been subscribed already, whether I entered this PIN anywhere or not). I also had texted "STOP" just moments after receiving the first text. I had gotten a confirmation text saying I was unsubscribed and would not be charged. However, I was obviously not unsubscribed, and was charged $9.99 for something I never signed up for.
The ONLY place I had entered my cell phone number online around April 22nd, was on a website called Great American Photo Contest (www.greatamericanphotocontests.com). I assume they are working with Predico Mobile to rip off innocent people.
