We took my suburban to the shop for knocking in the engine, i have only put 22000 miles on this vehicle. this particular warranty said not enough oil change receipts. when i ultimately found all the receipts they said i changed it too often. two receipts had 2500 miles between rather than the prescribed 3000 miles between oil changes. then it turned out they wouldn't have honored it regardless as they determined 'sludge in the engine'. therefore excluded by contract. turns out ANYTHING that would 'cause' a problem is excluded by contract.. contract also states NEITHER PARTY MAY TAKE THE OTHER PARTY TO A COURT OF LAW. hmm wonder what made that become necessary in a contract? pretty much, if nothing caused your problem.
then they'll cover it?? yeah, thats where im at on it, i want a full refund, this warranty is for engine, transmission & rear end problems only, but furnishes a rental vehicle while yours is in the shop. yep.
3wks later i never got a rental car! not to mention it took them OVER A WEEK to ever send an adjuster out to assess the situation! (therefore i would not have had a vehicle for a week regardless) this is a scam, a ripoff! do not waste your money , i have calls in to them to cancel the remaining portion of the contract valued at approx. $500, yep. no return calls to give me my money back either.

I am not sure that this report on the denial explains the complete picture . These service contracts are not warranties . Warranty is when you have a product that is covered completely from a defect. With all contracts there are guidelines and rules . This report states that Sabrina has put 22,000 miles on this vehicle but I am not sure if that means this surburban only had 22,000 miles total or 22,000 miles on top of the purchase mileage . All extended protection plans state that you must show verifiable maintenance records when there is a claim on a major component. That is just part of the guidelines and rules . If there is sludge present then the claim will be denied . Sludge is an excluded "cause of failure" in the rules and guidelines of the contract . It does not matter how it became present in your engine . The claim will be denied if your engine fails because sludge is blocking your oiling system . Period !
Rental is based off of an approved repair . This claim was not an approved repair and did not qualify for rental as outlined in the guidelines of the contract . However you should have qualified for two days of rental assistance for the inspection delay . I am not sure if that was explained to you by your service advisor at the repair facility .
To cancel a contract you have to follow the guidelines of your contract . All of the information about cancellations, rental, maintenance records and exclusions are provided to you at the time you purchase your service contract . Failure to follow the guidelines will result in poor customer satisfaction .
