These guys are pure scum. They are absolutely nonsense of integrity. I first became away of them through a neighbor that was selling their service. There products appear to be a good value but close attention show they are always wanting you to upgrade.

Their local sales guys (my neighbor) assaulted several neighbors because he did not like their life style and began to involve me in his disputes with other neighbors and start disputes with me. I realized after this he enjoyed Prepaid Legal because he needed it!! I called Prepaid Legal to cancel my membership and retrieve my membership information from my neighbor. They told me they couldn't retrieve my membership information and I dispute was between me and the neighbor. I could use their services to correct this matter. Prepaid Legal doesn't do any background check on its sells people. I can't believe they don't a background and post a bond. Any of their criminal scum bags or sells people as they call them can collect information about you!!!! In Kansas they use the law firm of Riling,Burkhead, and Nitchter, 808 Mass. Ave., Lawrence KS 66044. I don't believe law firms associate themselves with these practices.

#1- As with any MLM company people use different techniques to get you to buy their product. If you are at all sketical about the information you are receiving from your representative ask to speak with someone in their upline to answer you questions. I, NOR DOES MY UPLINE AND FRIENDS in this business LIE or manipulate people to buy our services. I tell the truth regardless, because I don't want you as a temporary customer. Plus, I don't like people lying to me, so I wont lie to anyone else. We do live in Texas and her we have to have a license in order to sell this service and I want to say it involves a background check as well.

#2- Prepaid Legal Lawyers are a PREVENTIVE service. Did you call when you were waste deep in the matter and want your lawyer to rescue you? Do you follow the legal advice from the lawyer and follow up to make sure everything was squared away. Also, did YOU have all of your facts straight before contacting the lawyer (dates, times, names, places). I'm only asking because most of the posts here aren't even organized thoughts (with the exception of the initial post, that is COMPLETELY understandable). WHENEVER, I am conducting personal business with companies, etc. I always right down the name of the person assisting me, time I called and date and any notes from the conversation. BEFORE I joined PPL. So, in a sense you have to be able to present your lawyer with organized documented materialso he can organize it in a way that is benficial to you.

#3- I paid a lawyer $250 to take care of a ticket I had in TX before I had PPL. In addition to that $250,  I paid about $300 more for the ticket, still couldn't get my license renewed because the firm, that I already paid to handle my case forget to tell me that I had to pay an additional $60. My point is that it doesn't matter, if its PPL or not, people will be people and make mistakes or just be careless. But I would rather know how I can SAVE money rather than spend it. I think that people miss the benefit of PPL being able to consult with a lawyer as many times as you need. That alone in Texas will cost you hundreds and guess what the lawyer will still waste your time by taking your money but not your case. So, it can work if you.

Last, but certainly no least to the person that originally wrote this report. I do offer my sympothy to you because this person was obviously scum and if they did refuse to get your information back from him, than that is a shame. I would be upset as well.

Prepaid Legal's Lack of Ethics

AUTHOR: Tony - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 02, 2011

Greetings:

I would think that after people read complaint after complaint about this company and upon reviewing the multitude of horror stories about PPL, consumers would start to get the message to avoid PPL at all costs.

Despite the self serving and clearly company sponsored "rebuttals" that seem to follow every negative post about PPL, sooner or later the underlying message should start to sink in; DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY ON PPL. This company is NOT about providing legitimate and beneficial consumer products and services, it is simply about continuing to support their long running corporate pyramid scheme, through the "recruiting" of every living, breathing, human in possession of a bank account on the planet earth.

While I am sure that there are a multitude of good, honest, hard working, decent and most of all UNINFORMED people within the distribution levels of this never ending pyramid scheme called PPL; those making the "big bucks" that the PPL managers and recruiters love to tout are NOT the world's most honest, ethical, or best educated "movers & shakers" in the business world. Clearly, PPL would love new recruits to believe that their upper management structure is made up of some of the worlds great business leaders and financial minds. Notwithstanding, the fact is that many of those "business leaders" within the ranks of PPL have very checkered pasts and would never make the cut in order to advance to the upper, or even middle management ranks of any Fortune 500 company. In fact, most legitimate small business owners, or local and regional employers, would not want many of these people anywhere near their own legitimate firms or employees.

This brings me to my next point. PPL's introduction of their "Identity Theft" products has been a recruiting gold mine for these types of unethical individuals. I have personally observed and listened to the training provided to new PPL "recruits" and experienced PPL "associates" alike, on how to establish a new PPL business relationship with their friends, family, work associates and other vendors that they trade with on a regular basis. First they are taught to go in and talk about how "identity theft" runs rampant in our society today and then present that employer and their uninformed employees with the PPL "solution" to their identity theft problems.

Unfortunately, the "sale" does not stop there, instead those same PPL recruits and associates are then trained and expected to strong arm and recruit their new business client's employees and managers into becoming PPL "associates" themselves. Once those unsuspecting employees and managers are placed under the PPL "anesthesia" at one of the PPL weekly "opportunity meetings," the pressure then begins for that new "PPL client" to LEAVE their full time employer. Yes, the same employer that the PPL associate just sold a company wide PPL "identity theft" program to. Clearly, that employer doesn't have to concern himself or herself with the problem of "identity theft" thanks to PPL; however they now must worry about "employee theft" when the PPL associate and their up line "managers" attempt to hire away all of that new business client's employees for the PPL "dream." A "dream" that consists of nothing more than smoke and mirrors, half truths and playing upon everyone's desire to achieve "financial independence."

As a current Bar Association member, I have seen firsthand the repeated and extensive damage that has been done to the lives of good, honest, hard working Americans, through the blatant manipulation and deceit perpetrated upon unsuspecting individuals and employers, by those promoting the Prepaid Legal Services  products and their alleged "business opportunity." I currently represent, or have represented clients in the past, who have had their lives turned upside down after finding out that the "legal plan" from PPL that they have struggled to pay for month upon month, covers virtually nothing and they are now in the middle of a complex legal situation without the legal representation that they thought they had. I have also witnessed the ravaging of companies by PPL managers and recruiters once they get their foot in the door of a firm under the pretense of "protecting their company and employees."

Enough is enough! Wake up America, PPL is not the path to wealth and financial independence that it purports to be, it is a fast track to business and financial ruin for all too many people who make the mistake of becoming PPL "associates," or opening the doors of their business to an unethical and starving PPL associate or manager that will do all in their power to recruit your trusted employees, managers and even officers or partners away from your company. I have seen it happen personally and I know that the problem is widespread. Don't let you and your firm become another "notch" on Prepaid Legal's gun belt!

prepaid legal services is not a scam nor a rip off

AUTHOR: Crystal - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, June 25, 2011

it seems as though your neighbor gave you a bad impression of a wonderful company. prepaid legal services are not to blame for what he did. unfortunately PPL doesn't do background checks on the associates but it is up to you to recognize the difference in a bad associate and a bad company. he was the wrong doer not PPL. giving up your membership wasn't a good thing because the membership is needed by all. attorneys are expensive, your identity is precious, having a will drawn up is a great thing to have. bottomline is prepaid legal services is an excellent company doing good things for people. prepaid legal services will be 40 years old next year and is a new york stock exchange company. prepaid legal is not a scam nor a rip off. if you are a prepaid legal associate your business success if what you make it, it is up to you and how much you put into your PPL business that determines your success. you should get the membership again but not with your crooket neighbor. good luck to you.

One Bad Apple...

AUTHOR: Happy in Texas - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I am sorry that you had a terrible experience with a PPLSI Associate. I have had wonderful service with PPLSI.  The provider law firm has been very professional and helpful. I learned early on that what I thought was against the law didnt mean that it actually was. I was not happy, but it was the law.

To all readers:

If one doctor misdiagnoses an illness, does it make ALL of them lousy doctors? If one police officer makes a wrong decision on a call, make ALL police officers bad people? If one or two US Military service personnel abuse the rights of a prisoner, should we assume that ALL military personal are at fault? The answers would be no. One bad apple does not spoil the bunch. I dont know if you know anything about business, but a company cannot be a scam or scum and still maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Dont take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

Happy in Texas with PPLSI!

Still Scum and Scam

AUTHOR: Tlcshwn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 04, 2008

This is a follow up and clarification of an earlier post. I finally received a letter from Pre-Paid Services, Inc. (PPSLI) stating that my personal information documents had been shredded as I had requested over a year ago. I had requested that my personal information be retrieved from the PPLSI associate. They had originally refused to assist me in this matter and stated I could not use PPLSI services to assist me in retrieving the information.

I believe the only reason the PPLSI retrieved or stated they had shredded my personal information was I had contacted the law firm that represents PPLSI in Kansas. The law firm was unsympathetic about my request to secure my personal information from a PPLSI associate. The law firm stated that they had nothing to do with terms of the plans.

I still believe PPLSI is a very dishonest company. They didn't give any details about how personal information was retrieved from their former associate. Their former associate is my neighbor and has been less than neighborly to many people in the neighborhood.

The economics of PPLSI are poor. If a person saves $25.00 a month for legal services for several years, the average person would have significant saving for many legal questions. I believe because of the slow speed and upgrades required for major legal issuesPPLSI is money wasted!!!! I plan to file a complaint with the attorney general's office and the Kansas Bar Association.

Sorry for your experience...I would be unhappy with my neighbor as well!

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 06, 2008

I am sincerly sorry for your horrible experience. I just want to clarify something. I live in Alabama and I have to be licensed by the state to offer legal services as a PrePaid Legal Associate. You would not, under any circumstances, be treated that way as my customer and it angers me to no end how you were treated by this incompetent associate. If I can help explain anything to you, please let me know.

Scott
