The state of NJ is not going to like everyone fileing Chapter 7 but if it's the only way to keep the clothes on our backs and are paychecks in the bank so be it.

These people locked up my rent and ruined my life for a good three months. Nothing was ever good enough, they refused to accept anything other than the amount in full, my experience was horrible. Most people complaining here mention they preyed on emotions. That was definately the case with me, as I incurred some debt in college I had not been able to pay, and felt really bad about it. After reading the reports here, I am going to have to do some research to determine whether I even owed the company they said I did. I was so overwhelmed and upset that my rent and bank account were frozen, I just paid them...almost 5000 if I recall correctly. That was with fees, etc. I will be gathering together all the old documents and re-visiting this issue. I have never felt so helpless.

I originally had a loan from a company in NJ. I lost my job but still paid on the loan then in 2003 I received a letter from the place I received the loan stating that my acct was paid in full and they apologized but they lost my original file for the loan and to accept this letter as paid in full. I still have the letters thank god I'm a pack rat..So I'm still trying to find out why it's in the hands of Pressler and Pressler..also known as Midland credit.
