My husband was involved with Primerica for a very short time - long enough to get his life insurance license and mutual fund license. As soon as he passed these exams (only 1 attempt needed for each) he left.

The first hint that Primerica was not an appropriate company for him was the statement that further education in the business was not necessary, he could go to Primerica University. We both went to one of these "so-called" university courses and discovered that education was not its goal, rather it was a "rah rah rah" event to convince the "masses" that it was a privelege to be allowed to turn over any prospects to your upline.

I was appalled to find out that these "so-called insurance professionals" were giving income tax advice to their clients aka dupes. The reason I call them dupes is that the tax advice given was at best inaccurate and in some cases blatently illegal.

Primerica did not benefit to any great degree from my husband's involvement in that he refused to turn over any prospects to his upline. As a matter of fact his upline gave him a prospect just so he would stay on board.

I purchased a life product and as soon as my husband left the organization, cancelled it, causing a chargeback to his upline - poetic justice.

If anyone is thinking of joining Primerica I would recommend that he or she consider becoming a Moonie or Hari Krishna, they are at least up front about their brainwashing techniques.
